I think that was the point of him saluting him. It's completely unnecessary but he does it anyway. I'm sure it's meant to signify his respect of Shepard. Anyway, this a YMMV type of deal: they can easily argue that the Alliance military has different protocols than today's armed forces and get away with it easily. I think I clearly remember Ashley saluting Shepard on the Normandy the first time you talk to her (correct me if I'm wrong here guys!).

@Fox I'm not sure if Ashley does, but I know for a fact that everytime you move to the doors at the CIC to go down the stairs, the men guarding the door stand at attention and salute each time you open the door. So I just asked my boyfriend about the saluting indoors thing, and he says that yea they're not supposed to salute indoors unless it's under a duty status, which I guess Vega sort of is as he is the one "babysitting" Shepard for trial.

Not to post from those nasty spoilers but...Vega had at least three moments of pure badassery. Or maybe I was reading the same scene twice.

I definetly hope he will be! As I said before Mac Walters is creating him, the guy who created the utlimate bro characters in Mass effect Wrex and Garrus, I am not that worried.

Ha, ha! Don't worry, it has nothing to do with the possible spoilers! It's just that MACharlie1 said that he/she likes the picture of M/M Vega but it also implies "FOREVER ALONE," so I'm guess he/she is saying that they don't want Vega to be EXCLUSIVELY S/S? I might have gotten that completely wrong though! In my defense, I took a muscle relaxant and I'm half asleep at the wheel!
