No, you didn't miss anything, and they STILL don't know a thing about him either.  

If he turns out to be gay then I'm going to get a major laugh watching all of the homophobes flip out and lose their minds.

Why make another male character that is part of Alliance while having Ashley/Kaidan and Vega?

They' remodel him and probably do it again.

I won't follow the gay romance path if that's one reason he's in the game.  But I still like having people on my side shooting badguys with the Widow.  That's enough for me.

I'm not exactly a fan of the whole same-sex romance thing, but I wouldn't mind if he was bi. If people want same-sex romance, let them have it. Just don't touch the already existing LIs.
