I think the whole Vega kitten thing is super cute, as unrealistic as it is. (I'm 99% positive it won't be added into the game anyways since it's a fan thing, so I wouldn't worry if I were you.)

Anders had Ser Pounce-a-Lot while fighting darkspawn and it didn't ruin his character or "image".

I hated Anders in DA2. I loved him in Awakening. I'm convinced that it's not the real ANDERS! ITS: A CLONE!! ZOMG! Gimme back cuddly anders who wanted 'the write to date pretty girls and shoot lightening at fools'.

Gaidar acgtualy explained why.  they didn't want Sir pounce to be just some item i na pocket, they wanted an animated cat that prowls the clinic.  but they didn't have a chance/coudln't implement it, so instead they wrote it as the same wardens who gave him that cat i an first place... took it away >_>  to add more wangst

anyways - Vega.  sounds like an awesome dude.

Whew...looks like I missed a little excitement here while I was at work today.

As for the cat debate, yes it is a little silly but my goodness, why so serious? I don't think any of us are expecting/wanting to see Vega running around the Normandy, arms flailing, screeching about those nasty naughty Reapers. THAT would be him portraying to the stereotypical homosexual man. There's many conversations on here that have nothing to do with cats, or Vega's sexuality even, yet you choose to focus on those conversations because to me it seems you just want to get a rise of everyone that does enjoy that little sidejoke. It's simple, if you don't want to read about Vega owning a cat, don't read the posts that discuss it and don't read the fanfics that include that particular aspect. It's like those parents who **** and whine about little Bobby being exposed to naughty language on these pointless cartoons but are too brain dead to realize that there's a damn button that will change the channel, or even block it.

That's all I'm going to say about that. Oh, and Vega's kitten ftw

We don't know what the actual limitations are for Vega and his living arrangements in the vessel. Cats are not high maintainance animals and for the most part they stay put where you leave them so I hardly see an issue with bringing a companion that serves as a morale booster and stress relief.

It may not be a paragon of professionalism, but if Vega has no home he can leave an animal in, I see little issue with him bringing the cat. After all, we're getting a robot dog companion for the Collector's Edition that will be hanging around in the vessel and whom we'll interact with.

It's not an ideal setting but it's plenty plausible. And claiming that it's a bad stereotype is another brand of being overly dramatic, so how about we both do some calming down?

i don't think it was just the cat being taken away that turned him into emo anders i think he figured out how it really is for mages in the real world of the da2 setting (forgets the name of the place)

My fem shep is an inflitrator. Here's a snippet for you guys.


Roxanna Shepard moved her bishop forward.

"Bold move." James replied. Shepard shrugged her shoulders, taking a sip of brandy.

"I live on the edge." She replied non-chantlantly, a laugh followed afterwards. James smirked and looked down at the board, noting that he was indeed in a bind. Shepard pushed her dark brown hair behind her ear, grumbling to herself about the length. A second later, James moved his rook.

"Check." He announced. Shepard leant forward on her folded arms and overlooked the game board, giving Vega a rather fine view at the dog tags around her neck and down her loosely buttoned up shirt. He composed himself before the thought got out of hand. Thinking of your Commanding Officer like that was inappropriate. But more and more, James found that he hadn't minded it as much as he should have.

He wouldn't admit it outright, but the Commander was an impressive looking woman. With darkish caramel coloured skin, brown hair at her shoulders with a single streak of platinum she had treated in, and a pair of emerald coloured eyes. She was indeed an impressive looking woman.

"I've given some thought to moving off the edge. Not an ideal retirement location." She announced, slumping back into her chair.

"I thought you were a marine 'til the end?" James asked, "Didn't you say that?"

"I'm thinking of telling the Alliance to go to the hot place and stay with the Spectres. Not that that's any better." Shepard resigned with a sigh, moving her pawn to take his rook.

"You've always been negative about the Alliance? Then why did you join?" James asked, not really focused on the game anymore.

"What else was I supposed to do?" She retorted. "Family was dead, Home destroyed and my scholarship got withdrawn and sent to someone else 'cause I 'didn't accept in time'." Shepard paused to scoff.  "Tell me, how do you accept something while in a coma."

"I don't know, that's just loco... and I didn't realise about your family." James retorted. "Sorry for bringing that up."

"It's fine. It's all in the past now." She sighed, taking another swig of scotch. Her lips pressed into a thin smile. "And it's nice to talk about it casually. I don't talk about it much. It's something of a relief."

"Uh. Well. Glad I could help I guess." James said, taking a shot of liquor. A moment passed, neither was sure if it was alright to speak again, or if the rest of the evening should be spent in silence. James finally broke it after a minute of contemplation. "So, what was your scholarship for?"

"Oh? Information technology." Shepard replied with a reminiscent look in her eye.

James let out a chuckle. "Somehow, I don't find that surprising, ma'am."

Shepard let out a hearty laugh. "I wonder why?"
