^ That.  Also first I will give my serious answer; the cat is used to show the haters who kept commenting on Vega being brutish that he wouldn't be, hence Sgt. Whiskers was born.

Also I went through the files with the romance leaks and I saw no mention of cats, cat, kittens, kitten, or Sgt. Whiskers (I specifically looked ) so I doubt you will have to worry about it. If there does end up being mention of a cat in the game then do what your doing now. I'm sure there will be an option to make fun of his cat in game if he has one. But complaining about a pet cat the Vega fans made, not Bioware, is a little silly.

Okay we get you don't want Vega to have a cat. But you weren't specific on how he should show his softer side so how about birds? Birds don't equal cats, so its an alternative right?

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm agreeing. Something like that would make vega appear less brutish and more like 'ZOMG!!! GIANT TEDDY BEAR!' but just a cat on the ship wouldn't be very practical.

And yes, he is kind of like The Beast. He looks kind of scary, but based on the dialogue I've read, and them impressions I get, he's a really sweet, good natured guy.

lol I looked through the newly leaked files, I didn't see any mentions of his cat & I tried a bunch of combinations!

I would go for it.

This thread already has shots from the beta on here. I believe more people are concerned about story spoilers than screenshots. At least, I haven't seen anyone screaming in angst over seeing pics of Vega from the beta.
