*Shep first time in the game sees J. Vega*

Kinda creepifying, but suits at least my Roxanna Shepard's initial impression.

My main Shepard, Jonathan was intially very adversarial to James when they first met... (granted some of their traits were similar: Jon would curse at length in gaelic if something didn't go right, Vega just uses spanish words them in normal conversation.) they build up a grudging respect for one another eventually.

Here is another dialogue for you guys to enjoy.

Shepard+Vega walk into a bar fully armoured to meet a contact.
???: Commander Shepard? It's me! Conrad Verner!
Shepard: *facepalms* Oh mary, mother of god.
Vega: You know this loco, Ma'am?
Shepard: Somewhat.
Vega: Who is he?
Shepard: You actually described him dead on, truthfully.
Vega: Oh. Do I need to protect you from him?
Shepard: Another day, I would love to flirt, but today, I want to avoid this headache.
Vega: Do you want me to keep my sidearm ready?
Shepard: Yes.
Vega: *nods*
Shepard: Wait. That was a joke.
Vega: You're sounding a little like that Cerberus AI, ma'am.
Shepard: Just - keep him away from the door while I go meet this Ophelia person.
Vega: Right.

Conrad: Hey! Shepard! Its me, Conrad - *Shepard entered a private room with Vega standing guard, brandishing his assault rifle.*
Vega: Can I help you, sir?
Conrad: I wanted to see the Commander! She and I are really old friends! Closer than close!
Vega: I'm sorry, sir. This is official Alliance business. I can't allow you to interfere.
Conrad: Oh, of course! Definitely! Anything to help the Commander.
Vega: How do you know her sir?
Conrad: I met her on the citadel! Asked her to recommend me for Spectre!
Vega: *Thinking: Are you sh*tting me? Shepard nailed it. 'Loco' is right.*

Been thinking about writing some dialogue for a while, especially since I saw the beta preview on youtube with the interactions between Shepard, Vega and Ashley & some of the ones writen by Aurora313. Take a look:

Shortly after entering the sol relay after escaping from earth, Lt Vega reports to shepards cabin:

Vega: Commander Shepard *salutes*, Reporting as ordered sir
Shepard: I thought I told to stop calling me commander, James
Vega: with all due respect sir that was before admiral Anderson reinstated you, sir
Shepard: Just like another Lt I used to know
Vega: sir?
Shepard: Never mind, Status report
Vega: We're still 10 hours from the citadel, all systems are green ......All though
Shepard: Yes...
Vega: the crew is worried.
Shepard: There not the only ones, I just wish Anderson was here to help me with the council
Vega: Don't you think the council will believe you this time?
Shepard: They'll listen and look at the proof, weather they'll actually do something is another question entirely.
Vega: But you've been proven right, everything you said has come true. The reapers have returned.
Shepard: Only Earth has been attacked so far, until the reapers attack the other council worlds, they won't want to see the truth.
Vega: By then it could be to late, for Earth and the galaxy.
Shepard: I Know.
Vega: So what, we're fighting a losing battle.
Shepard: No, theres still hope. We've made a lot of friends out there some of them powerful. If we work together we can stop the reapers.
Vega: in time to save earth?
Shepard: in time to save the galaxy.
Vega: Yes Sir.
Shepard: Dismissed Lt.

[Criz]

Mmm  Aside from the obvious yumminess that is Vega, it is really impressive how much the shadowing and little details have improved when comparing this shot to the one from the leaked demo. Really pay attention to the shading from his chin on his neck, and the fabric of his shirt looks like it came straight out of a real life photo. Amazing work Bioware!

It also seems Vega has gotten a bit of a nose and eye job, very slight but still. The upturn to his nose (aka piggy nose) is almost non existant, and his eyes look somewhat larger, and definitely darker.

Ok! Now that the analytical part is out of the way, I can run around my house flailing about how hott this video game character is, s'cuse me 

Oh Shega how I love thee, he looks even better with those textures & I thought that was impossible.

& his eyes Damn.

In the Interim 
Being forced to sit in a brig for weeks on end may lead to a slow descent into madness for some, but Shepard doesn't mind the waiting as much as James Vega seems to. You can find out so much about a person by what they do during their downtime.

Feels weird writing this before the game's released, but since it's set before the actual start of it, I feel like I'm a tiny bit safer than I would be if I jumped right in. Which I did with a few fics before ME2 was released. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Finally found some time to read some fanfiction and I lol'ed at Vega's Nevada
Loved the tension btw Kaidan and Vega! I sooo want that in one of my ME3 playthroughs!

I loved that line as well! Great fic! I like your Shepard, the humor, and the way you expressed Anderson's emotions to demonstrate he really does feel for her current situation.
