^Anderson is first squadmate in Mass Effect 3.

It would be weird to add Vega as redshirt with them on start.
Besides, Vega is only new announced squadmate. And I don't think Alliance will allow Liara and any other non-Alliance personal on Normandy until fall of Earth.

With that voice better not.
It would be sound weird that he doesn't know anything outside of Alliance with that voice.

I think we can safely agree that they wouldn't make an alternate appearance model (advertised in the Collector's Edition) for a redshirt.

I really want Vin Diesel to voiceact him. Bioware already coined Jack's character from the Riddick films, why not then take one of the most badass characters of all time and embody their personality in that of Vega. (Can't see Riddick doing S/S dialogue though)

Actually, I would choose him based on his role in "The Debt". More emotional depth than all his other movies combined.

Actually,  a fair amount of people (myself included) in this thread are campaigning for Vega to not have a soldierly vibe.
I'd like him to be different than the standard space marine.

Yeah, I think that's about as far away from space marine as we can get.

when i got awakening i just instantly liked mhairi..i restarted the game several times thinking that i made a wrong decision in the game but no...no.
*glosses over old mhairi appreciation thread*

im gettin the feelin that james vega is like a nod to faceless, spacemarine protagonists. his alternate appearance looks like the chief's if it hasnt been pointed out before. its odd, if we played as this character, we'd think james was generic, but then suddenly we have him as part of the cast and now hes some sort of man of mystery.
everything i know about shooters is telling me not to expect anything from this guy but im actually pretty stoked.
