I would be happy with a strategic camera angle scene that confirms that he is smart enough to get naked for sex even if it meant we do not actually see his "concealed weapon."

Or maybe they could do something similar to the first Austin Powers movie.

As long as he doesn't have all that chest hair I'm good. ugh all that chest hair...bleh.

Could be worse, He might have big, thick back hair.

Is James Vega only playable as N7 downloadable character? or is he automatic squad member?

Yeah, all joking aside, everyone deserves a piece of Vega's super hot body, be it manShep or femShep. ;]

I don't think James is as furry as Austin Powers. Vega's arms are smooth-skinned. He must have a moderate amount of chest hair, if anything.

I would read through the 140-ish pages of this thread but I'm WAY too lazy. I read the OP. That's good enough.

But, I don't see why so many people hate on Vega. I'm interested to see what kind of character he turns out to be; I saw the beta video and he doesn't seem that bad. If I end up not liking him after I play the game, then I'll start bashing him upside the head with a frying pan. But not before. I mean, come on, I gave Jacob the benefit of the doubt (<_<); it's the least I can do for Vega.

A lot of the hate seems to be stemming from his overtly muscular look, hence all the Jersey Shore and steriods references. So really any distaste in the character atm is appearance based alone (really sort of shallow when you think about it) or specualtion on what may be his role in ME3. But since the "release" of the beta a lot of people seem to be doin a 180 and actually giving his character a chance, so we'll see how things play out in the future as more info/media is released Posted Image Glad you're giving him a chance, Bioware does an excellent job of creating unique and likable characters so my faith in him turning out well is pretty high.

@Rebel That photo is gorgeous! If that hairstyle is not available in character creation for ME3 I will be very disappointed Posted Image

Oh, an FYI. I'm writing a post-war Shega :D

The premise is:
It's post-war, the galaxy is in disarray. Everything has gone to hell, the major governments (inc Alliance) has collapsed and a group called 'Halcyon' is looking for the one group of people who can put it back together. Vega was the first one found (He kinda never really left), now he's head-hunting for Shepard who is doing her damnedest to keep off the galactic radar. It's no where near done yet, but I like how I've gone about writing it so far.

Well that's just stupid; why judge the guy's character from his appearance? -_- I mean, I don't like Jersey Shore but I can live with his look. I was curious about him before the leak, but the beta's only made me more curious. Hopefully more people will stop hating on him as we get closer to March (after more info is released, like you said). :D

I have a pet theory that about 95% of the guys who criticize his overly muscular appearance are envious of it and it makes them uncomfortable since we all know men gain pounds and pounds of muscle mass just by sitting in a computer chair. They are either really large nerds or scrawny nerds.

I don't know about you guys, but I've never put on a pound of muscle without busting my ass. And even when I think I busted my ass, I didn't bust it enough for results. Hows the sitting on your ass working for you guys? I mean, I'm just evolving out of that scrawny nerd appearance but it's taking an awful long time...

I agree 100% Charlie! I am a girl and you know what? I like my men cut and muscular! It shows they have the same level of dedication to having a healthy lifestyle as I do ('cept I'm just toned not like bodybuilder muscular). But I like being fit! But I guess it's as the saying goes..."Haters gonna hate".

QFT! I'm sure there are guys out there who legitimately dislike his look for personal taste reasons, but I'm sure a lot of them are annoyed that Vega looks like an "alpha male" and that might seem threatening to them or their manSheps if they're very insecure in themselves. I have found through life experience that people just like to hate on things that are different/they are not, from both ends of the spectrum. I've been both, severely obese and now I am entirely different (200+lbs, but it's mostly muscle) and I kind of get the exact same shabby treatment I always did, but from different people ("Oh he works out, he MUST be a douche! Let's completely and utterly be rude to him without actually getting to know him!"). <_< :(

Eh I don't know, since I'm not a guy I can't really speak on the their mindsets. I understand many people have insecurities, but I really hope when we're simply talking about a videogame character this isn't true at all.
