I have no classes on Tuesdays so thats the reason I have been more chatty during the day. I guess talking about LI cat fights and awesome & not so awesome Fanfics gets us worked up. Also mmm CUPCAKES! <3 I never had a Ticklebelly cupcake before, do they sell them in Canada? 

Anyways, speaking of awesome fanfics, Calla I just read your latest chapter and loved it! (I'm going to post my same review on the Fan.Fic site too so people can see them)

The moment with the boy was really sweet, and I liked how you contrasted it well with the serious scene in the middle that had me really feeling sorry for Payton by the end. Though I really loved how you then brought it back to the aww worthy sweetness with James finding her asleep! <3 It was awesome & your awesome!

Just wanted to add a random observation. I have been finding out of the many character threads on this board that this thread has to be one of the most laid threads out there. Everyone is on average great to one another and I have had a lot of fun discussions in this thread.

Okay I am done with the mushy, I promise! Here have a fighting Vega!

lol well I did just wake up from a much needed nap, so yeah I am a bit more mushy/soft than I should be.

See, the little boy? That's the little boy we've seen in the gameplay footage; it's my own little headcanon that Shepard knew of him before the crap hit the fan. Because I enjoy knifing my readers and then twisting. Not really. You're all safe. I promise. Mostly. Until the game ships and I can crank up the angst, at least.

Poor Payton! I thought I only brought my Shepard's through hell and back just for fun and emotional impact!

Also that bolded bit is the first sign to know I am not safe! Anyway, I do really love angst though so can't wait to read the chapters after the game is released to see it evolve!

I think also the boy is a representation of Shepard's downward spiralling insanity.

My canon Shepard, Jonathan-Mal, has always had issues with his mental state since Elysium. He was a drug addict for about a year afterwards, got tossed into rehab and then the prothean beacons/cipher along with the Reapers messing with his head only made it much much worse. And part of my head canon is that the Alliance think he's losing it again (due to his history) therefore are ignoring most of the warnings he gives, chalking them up to symptoms of his psyche finally shattering under pressure.
