delurking just to let those that are curious know that imdb (not saying that it is necessarily accurate) does not have john cena listed as playing james vega they have someone else listed. so whoever said they cracked it or figured out who the actor is needs to check their facts. If you want to see who it is though you can go to the imdb website and type in mass effect 3 and click look at entire cast he's at the bottom of the page. back to lurking.

On IMDB it says that someone named Jamal Kazak will be voicing Vega.
I think this might be right. They look similar...

@ Sakuragrrl - Thanks for bringing that up! I remember seeing that as well. Honestly I thought the person who said it was John Cena was just joking, I doubt it is him.

His name doesn't sound Hispanic. I'm worried that if James DOES end up with his Spanish accent/Spanglish in the actual game that this guy might not get it right. D:

I'm playing Jurassic Park the game right now and one of the characters is Hispanic, but the voice actor does a horrible job with the Spanish accent. It kind of kills the character!

The guy should have a Spanish accent, only, if he was raised in Spain.

By a Spanish accent he means any native Spanish accent (Mexican, Colombian, Argentinian...), not exclusively an accent from Spain.

I suspect CatDogCatDog thought that Cena's voice bore a resemblance to James' voice, and he/she invented the cracking thing.

Those three differ greatly, being myself Argentinian (wich sounds very italian)... Even in my own country the accent differs from province to province, greatly.
Spanish accent is only from Spain... I only wanted to correct that.
Because maybe the guy says that he's Latin American (born in Bolivia, he doesn't goes into details so this is unknown), but people expects him to sound like a mexican.

You're right. The national accents I mentioned differ greatly. There are at least nine different accents in Mexican territory. I once heard a Colombian guy say that there were two Colombian accents: the Colombian one every Spanish speaker knows of, and one accent in North Colombia which bears a strong resemblance to the Cuban accent (this Colombian guy did sound like a Cuban one). Spain has several Northern and Southern dialectal varieties. But enough about that.
Yeah I get that, the problem was that in some countries Hispanic means a whole different thing.Negam wrote...
And, as I said, when FoxHound (and I, for that matter) said "Spanish accent" he meant a native Spanish accent, not just an accent from Spain. Maybe he should have said something more specific and geographically restricted, like "Latin American accent" or "Mexican/Central American/Puerto Rican accent" instead, but he chose to use "Spanish accent" with Spanish meaning "Spanish language", not "native from Spain".
Negam wrote...
I don't know if people expect him to have a Mexican accent, but that would be a reasonable expectation. Then again, it would be reasonable for James to speak with Puerto Rican, Cuban or some accent from a Central American nation like Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, etc., too, because people from those countries migrate to the USA and, to a lesser extent, Canada. He could even speak with a native Spanish language accent developed in places outside Spain and Latin America like Miami, Los Angeles, New York, etc. The point is not where James' accent when speaking Spanish is from. The point is, he must believably sound like he speaks native Spanish. He must sound like he speaks Spanish from birth. I don't care if he sounds like he's from Viña del Mar, San Juan or Mexico City. All I'm asking for is that he sounds like a native Spanish speaker, for the credibility of the character to be preserved. I don't want him stuttering Spanish with a thick Boston accent. That's all.
