I won't say leaked info sheds some light on who can be romanced by whom - first, it's incomplete, and second, second, lines are seriously messed, and third, there aren't any indication on conditions causing the appearance of this lines.

I don't understand why it's such a big deal if *any* character is an s/s option. I mean, you don't like it, don't choose it. The end. I only hope that Vega can be romanced by both genders, because I simply don't like playing M!Shep

It's pretty amusing that female players are allergic to ManShep but most male players are fine playing as FemShep.

my very first Shep was a femShep and I was all 'ooh I can play as a woman and don't have to play as a dude to save the galaxy? Neat!"
I played an mShep next and simply preferred Meer's voice
The only thing that got me to play as femShep later was romancing Kaidan and since I found out about the console command thingy, not even that *shrug*

yes, I'm hoping Kaidan and Vega will be available as proper s/s romances, but I won't ragequit Mass Effect if they aren't

and why would Meer's or Hale's voice be the only reason not to play as mShep or femShep?
- I mean in my case it is, but that doesn't mean others won't have other reasons -

Well, what ARE the reasons?  The only REAL difference is the 100% optional romance options, which are not part of the main storyline.  I understand that Shepard is essentially supposed to be the player.  If you prefer your first choice is female, then cool. But I don't get why some people REFUSE to play as Male solely on gender.  Other than being male, you still have a degree of choice. He doesn't have to be white or straight (which is more than I can say for most of the male protagonists out there).

Wow, no need to take it so personally. I certainly didn't mean that as an insult.
Mark Meer's voicing of M!Shep simply doesn't appeal to me. And that's that.
I am entitled to my opinion, as you are to yours. No need to start insulting each other or put words in my mouth, thank you very much, since nowhere in my post have I said that I don't like playing M!Shep because he is male.

EDIT: Okay, I see that I've been misunderstood here. Though, I don't understand the hostility. I don't dislike playing M!Shep because he is a man, but because I just prefer Hale's voice acting. Simple.
And again, I do think it's polite to respect other's opinions, and not attack them without even thinking.

No hostility was intended, Ms. Munroe. I never heard the problem with Meer's voice (except for one or two lines), but that's just me.

Long time lurker feeling the need to jump in here, but honestly I can't NOT play Sheploo and I'm a straight female, so not all women have an "allergy" to playing male Shep  In my case I prefer it.

James seems an interesting character. He is hot too, so I could jump on him if he is the m/m LI.
