and yes everybody did like the "holy ****" outburst from Vega, for me it was a confirmation he is going a be a pretty laid back easy going guy.

Haha Vega/Shepard/Kaidan love triangle. I know one Shepard of mine would love to exploit that opportunity to see how much Kaidan really wants her back hehe Also love Kaidan's and Vega's face in the picture. <3

I think it's great that we have the potential for a character who is overtly Hispanic. Since I haven't read the comic featuring him, is his background and heritage brought up at all? Is he a Hispanic character or a soldier who just happens to be Hispanic? And would bringing attention to his ethnicity be a turn on or turn off to his legion of fans, for romance or bromance?

I haven't read the leaked script, but from what others have said, he mixes Spanish in with his English. I'm really looking forward to it.

Personally, I don't let skin color or background dictate my feelings about someone, and I hope others would do the same.

@ franciscoamell -- I understand that eventually humanity will be a melting pot, but the ME humanity is AMAZINGLY white and North American after ME2. Hell, if Jacob wasn't Black, I'd almost think that Cerberus was xenophobic AND White supremasist. I am NOT asking for a character who goes around saying "Arriba La Raza!" only a sign that Latinos are part of this melting pot and not just white-washed. I'm still flabbergasted that other Ashley fans have questioned my intelligence because I had no idea that Ashley was supposed to be at least partially Latina.

I don't know why, but as an Ashley fan I've always wanted to find out that she was Jewish. I have this image of her lighting candles for Hanukkah during her night with Shepard before the big battle. Anyway, it could still be a reality, there are Hispanic Jews, or she could be Jewish through other family.

Meanwhile, I look forward to Vega. I hear he's an unstoppable tag team with Garrus, which means he can match up well with my adept.

I honestly don't know. He does say a lot of Spanish words and I think is from the American southwest - since he describes home as being a desert. But his Spanish...ness isn't really a factor. It's just a part of his character and his mannerisms.

I'm not sure how true that is, honestly. Jacob is black, Ashley is partially Latina, Kasumi is clearly Asian (most likely Japanese), Kaidan is racially/ethnically ambigious, Anderson is black, Udina is clearly not white, Chakwas is white but definitely NOT North American, Zaeed's name and last name hint to a different kind of background that isn't predominently white/North American/East European, and James and Cortez look like they're going to be pretty much full blooded Latinos. So I don't think it's fair to say that Mass Effect makes humanity "amazingly white/North American." Especially when you consider that Shepard him or herself can be of pretty much any race/ethnicity possible. 

The only white characters in the group are Jack and Miranda, and you could add Joker in there if you want to count those outside of the main ground teams. Add Kelly in there if you want to as well, but then you'll have to add Gabby who IS North American but is balanced by Ken who obviously isn't. You could even go as far as to argue the human translation of ethnicities of the aliens, where Liara would likely be a white female while Tali would be a Middle Eastern female, etc. 

I think it's pretty well balanced, to be honest. Although, yes, I too am excited about a male Latino character in a good light.
