If he isn't, then one of my ManSheps will have to live with being referred to as "Lola".

Great thing about that is that I don't have to worry about imports not carrying over if I do.

Fingers crossed that he will be a better human male lead squadmate than either Kaiden or Jacob. Both of those characters annoyed me and felt a bit like "filler". Didn't help that their abilities didn't stand out that much. Can't really complain about Kaiden anymore though....he's dead in my ME universe now RIP.

It would be nice if Bioware can offer a twist on Vega, something that draws us in so we aren't constantly reminded of this guy.

To be honest, when I see Jack Vega, I have a knee-jerk reaction that he's designed specifically to appeal to shooter fans.

He doesn't remind me of Jack at all. I am however reminded of Jersey Shore a bit, lol

Vega/Garrus or Vega/Kaidan... who will be my one true squad? My Shep is going to be such an attention **** in this game. He'll need to be surrounded by the men. It needs to have Vega for obvious reasons, especially if he's bi. Garrus is awesome, but I'm interested in Kaidan. I've never played the first Mass Effect so I can't judge him. Might have to take him for a test drive...

haha I am having the same dilemma! Well at least for Roxy she left her almost bf on Virmire so she won't have to pick between Garrus or Kaidan. :? It was the only way I could get through ME1 without romancing anyone! Kaidan is too hard to resist. :( Made me feel really terrible though...

Oh you should definitely grab ME1! You can get it for cheap, I think its on sale on steam as well for 9.99$ well worth the price. Then you would definitely be able to judge Kaidan! I really liked him but everyone has a different interpretation of him. He is sweet, loyal, not egotistical, laid back and a kick ass biotic.

ME2 there is hardly anything of him so hard to judge him. But yes I think you should give Kaidan at least a test drive to see how you like him. ^_^ I know my first true squad will be Vega/Kaidan since I really miss the guy, Garrus I had him in my squad ME2 I didn't have a chance to miss him really so my playthroughs where Ash is alive I'll bring Garrus along.  So its a even 50/50 for me.

You guys go through all the game with the same squad? There were so many options in ME2 that I chose a squad per mission, also there are squadmates apropriates for each situation and stuff.

Hey! No one disses Ronnie Magro...I love that sexy muscular bundle of shortness. Sexiest boy on the shore :) and yes I will begrudgingly admit I love the Jshore and watch it like a ritual *can feel I will be shunned soon* Also I liked Kaidan in ME1 All those traits you described Jil are what he was, ME2 he was a douche so he better make it up to me in ME3 'cause I'm still hurting from Horizon :( Also randomly I need to watch The Walking Dead with someone in the house with me...otherwise...I start thinking every creepy noise in my house could be a zombie :/

Was this Jersey shore guy the model for Vega? It looks like he was the inspiration.

in ME1 yes I did not only for the squad mate achievements but also dew to the fact I only liked Garrus and Wrex

in ME2 I switched between Mordin/legion/Grunt/Garrus/Kasumi/Zaeed though once I got legion he tended to never leave my party since I rush to get him

ME3 looks to be vega/garrus and the DLC character since Kaidan can go jump off a cliff with liara and Tali dies in ME2 for me (oh and the other spoiler char is just wtf)

Sorry he won't be anything like him. And I understand why everyone keeps bringing up how he is specifically designed to appeal to shooter fans but for me at least I'm not a hard core shooter fan and a lot of the people that hang out in this thread don't think that way when it comes to Vega. When I saw Vega I saw a badass looking Soilder that looked like he knew how to have a good time, wasn't cocky, and looked like a very loyal and trust worthy got-your-back sort of person.

Also this page need some more pictures of the real James Vega.

Liara will die as soon as possible in my game as well(dull robotic b*tch) and I will not return the favor of recuing her body. Tali is dead in two playthroughs and on the others I never use her(once I didn't even recruit her lol). James will be the first soldier to be a squad regular in my game, Ashley and Kaidan are characters I really want to get to know since I did not play ME1(shame they're never alive the same time) and Garrus will only be in my squad if the other ones turn out to be worse than him. I used him in ME2 for a time because he was one of the first to recruit but I'd always substitute him eventually. My squad consisted always of Thane/Jack/Miranda/Morinth/Mordin and Garrus on the beginning, I had a really good time.

I never used the same squads in ME2....

I usualy use characters i like or characters who had good abilities. Members that constantly rotated throughout my squad were Grunt, Garrus, Miranda, Legion, Zaeed, Kasumi. I never used Jack much. Jacks shockwave and other abilities pretty much become useless on Insanity espeacialy after you get Samara.

You need squadmates who can take shields down fast like Samara with Heavy Reave, Miranda's warp, or Zaeed's disrupter ammo. Samara & Miranda made the last team on the suicide mission a breeze since they together demolished collector shields with Reave & Warp. The fact that i had Dominate didn't hurt either ;)

ME1, it was Garrus, Liara, Wrex a lot since i completed hated both Ashley & Kaidan as characters.

I'm still on the beginning of my first Insanity playthrough, but imo Jack was very useful in every mission with husks and other legions of enemies, when she needed to fight armored and shielded enemies she did kinda suck =(, but I love her so much that sometimes I'd take her anyway. Miranda was by far the most powerful and useful squadmate in ME2, she was useful for every situation, I wish she'd come back as squaddie, not only because I love her but because she's the mightiest one of the bunch.

Grunt is a powerhouse, but one flaw about him was his charge ability, lol. Grunt got himself killed so many times charging mechs. Were all in cover and he's out in the middle of gunfire charging people even after i repeatedly tell him to stop it and get back to his corner haha. Grunt has the fortification though which makes up for his one flaw.

I guess i kinda wish Jack had the barrier ability instead of Jacob. I would have used her more then. Jacob has a compotent set of abilities but my extreme hatred of him forces me to not use  him.

Grunts charge will OHKO Husks once you strip their armor which is pretty useful since husks are god damn annoying

It pissed me off that the supposedly best human biotic alive has an amno special ability and not a biotic ability, that's just stupid, she deserved so much more.

That she did...infact IMO she should have had a unique ability like Samara does rather than Shockwave which shepard can get without unlocking.

Anyway i wish you could have gotten Legion earlier in the game. He is a boss with his unique sniper. Him, Miranda, & Samara were my most used characters on the suicide mission.
