Holy Hell, I went from "ugh... no thanks!" to "OH GOD I can't wait for this guy" in under two hours after reading this thread.
Seriously, I've avoided ALL Mass Effect communities and the like ever since ME2 came out. But rumours about this guy made me come back, and I don't think I'm leaving the forums until ME3 is released and things are CONFIRMED, dammit.
I knew next to nothing about Vega. After the first rumours of him being a "generic space marine" meant to represent new players, I completely tuned off. But now I really, really look forward to him. Specially if he and ManShep can have a thing. I'm really happy about the confirmed gay shuttle pilot and everything, but come onnnn, romancing Vega would be incredible.
I've already assumed my bachelor Shepard won't be romancing Garrus. I'm okay with that. But if there's going to be a man (or more) for him to love, I hope that (one of those men) is James Vega. Honestly? Because that would be unique as hell.
I mean, he doesn't look gay. He doesn't look like a male character that would be written for a m/m romance. But, the moment you stop and think about the circumstances, and the way they could flesh out his character, he starts making sense. It would be unexpected, different, and full of potential and testosterone.
I don't know what I'm saying. My mind right now is just.... Whoa. It's the ME2 pre-release months all over again. I hope we get more info on the romance possibilities. I don't know why these things mean such a great deal to me, but they do. xD

I remember Tali being constantly teased about. I think Thane, Jacob and Miranda were the only ones "confirmed". Jack was seen in the trailer hooking up with Shepard and I think that left Garrus as the only one viable so was speculated as such.
