Wow, haven't been here in awhile. Thread's gettin' up there in pages! It's always nice to see more love and less hate for the guy, too. GO VEGA! 

Alrighty then, to the point of my visit in a dog's age. I thought you guys would like to see something quite interesting. After glancing back and forth between the following two pics, I suddenly realised they were sporting the very same facial scars. Yes, really! I swear, if someone tells me it's just another "coincidence," I'm going to scream. You don't want that. It's most... disturbing. Anyway, to the pics!









Also of note, if you look closely, you can even make out a bit of Benny's neck tattoo underneath all the dirt and grime. Wish it was more obvious myself, but the poor lad's probably got more on his mind than wondering where he put his lavendar-scented facial wipe. ;P

So, let's see. *looks over the pics again* How anyone can say they look nothing alike boggles this one's mind. They have the same jawline, scars, nose, lips, eyes, neck tattoo, chin dimple, eye colour, hair colour, ability to shoot husks from great distances, etc. The only thing they don't have in common would be the style of their hair/facial hair; however, this is easily explained. Before being rescued by Shepard's crew, a nearby Reaper offered him a parting gift: a shave and a haircut, two bits.  Always figured a few of their lot as barbers on account of having those crazy laser fingers, claws, tentacles, whatever. Hey, if they can cut through skin and metal, why not hair? Gotta make money somehow when you're not destroying the galaxy or harvesting all organic life, right? (In reality, Bioware likely changed his hair/facial hair 'cos they weren't happy with its original look. *shrugs* It happens.)

In case the above pics aren't convincing enough, there's this. I'm not only comparing shots of in-game Vega to Benny, but Comic!Vega to Benny as well. Went ahead and threw in two pics of Sam Worthington, too, 'cos he's hawt and 'cos I can. ;D





Moving on to Vega's VA. Assuming he's the narrator for both the ME3 debut & Fall of Earth trailers, I'll stick with my original guess of Sam Worthington. For one, he looks and sounds like him, and two, judging from the movies he's starred in, he'd fit right in with the Mass Effect universe. How could he not? It's got blue aliens, driveable mechs, marines, lots of guns and explosions, this guy here, half human/half machine assassins out for revenge (revennnnnnge!), and we can't forget about giant bugs! Always gotta have some of those to make a sci-fi experience truly memorable.

Well, that was long! Damn my inability to share my thoughts in under five sentences. Ah well, think I made my point, um, somewhere up there. Free cake and cookies to those who can find it.

Its NOT the person from the FoE trailer. We heard Vega's voice twice, in the leak, and in the official VGA trailer. He's definitely a North American, not European/Australian.

Casey implied that the sniper IS in ME3, but that he'll play a different role from Vega. Makes sense though. The tower sniper is too small to be Vega.

Vega doesn't use a sniper anyway. Like Grunt (also survival based) he's a AR/shotgun soldier, I assume Ash, like Zaeed a DPS soldier, would be AR/SR.

But we have seen him use the Widow, haven't we? I could be wrong, I can't remember which trailer was which. And I wouldn't say Grunt was "survival" based. Charging towards a pack of angry klixen doesn't sound like a good survival strategy to me!

Those bastards better be using a nerfed version of it.

Well according to the leaked files theres a new sniper rifle called the black widow so maybe grunts get the old widow(which makes no sence if you read its description) and shep gets the new upgraded one

Well, lets just assume that it was just a modified version. I mean, a soldier today can use a 50 cal sniper rifle without breaking his arm, so it can't be that difficult to make a human widow that minimizes recoil.

The devs already commented on Vega's 2011 VGA trailer voice.

No matter what, Vega won't have the Aussie accent. Sorry.

All Alliance soldiers receive gene therapy when they enlist. It's not unthinkable that some of them would be able to fire a Widow without bone shattering.

Yeah this.

Shep can only fire it because he/she was given stronger bones by Cerberus. Legion's a robot (and his is custom made anyway.)

I think normal human soldiers do get muscle / bone augmentation but I'm not sure if they're enough to fire the widow safely.

Shep has been rebuilt with fancy cutting edge upgrades which is why s/he can fire it safely. (and drink poison! the wonders of a cyborg liver.)

also Shepard at this point is pretty much zombie cyborg space jesus and his body has been enchanced with cybernetics and crap that go way beyond the standard gene therepy that a grunt soldier would have

I mean even ignoring being able to use the widow the guy can freaking headbutta krogan without his helmet on for teh lulz without breaking his skull and punch out a freaking yahg and push it back

There's no mention of anything anywhere other than eyesight from what I can see.

So maybe they are given stronger bones. I don't see the point of that codex mention however if all soldiers are capable of firing it.
