Poor Big Ben, tho. That trailer breaks my heart for him. Trying to do what he can from that clock tower. No back up...everyone scattered and/or dead. "Regrouping....somewhere...". Ugh. But he's still fighting the good fight. Trying to help at least a few. And for some reason I have the feeling he's low on ammo.

So, whether he's in ME3 in some way, or not, he's a friggin' hero in my eyes.

Back to Vega. I have a question that I'm sure has been covered already, but is he, or is he not that "James" from Ashley's email. Do we know one way or the other yet?

Let's say your unit is in a tight spot. Some bug-eyed aliens are going to overrun the galaxy. They eat babies, smell bad, and don't have elbows. Nasty. You're told to guard the rear. To let everyone else escape, someone is ordered "hold this spot until we're gone." Someone has to be left behind. You think it's going to be someone you're sleeping with?

I've served with these guys for eight months now. Yeah, some of them make me feel tingly (and yeah, James was kinda scruffy-cute). I hope I never have to decide who lives and who dies. But if I have to, my decision can't be muddled up by magic-sparkly-hearts-and-stars feelings.

Anyways, I'm gonna knock off here. I've got dog watch in a few hours. Want to get a shower and a meal before then. Talk to you tomorrow.

James fits the description and lower rank described by Ash, but the part about the Kepler Verge would lead me to believe that he wasn't so unacquainted with alien life as Vega sounds. Although we could argue that this James ended up spending alot of time on the base waiting for action....or even that pirates and slavers are one thing, but the Citadel and Ilium are quite a bit different as far as understanding alien interactions.

Not trying to be too long here (apologies), but that would be interesting if Vega did know Ash b4, maybe a lil crushing going on...and now here he is w/ Ash and Shep.

Or even worse, you let Ash die, and here he is trying to call Shep out for it.

Yeha, there are quite a few "James". I kinda wish there was that history there, tho. It'd be interesting to see it play out, imo.

I have to be honest, even though theres a support thread about the character we barely know NOTHING about a part from looking pretty poor from a character design perpective. I have to say that the character looks pretty horrible for a video game character I don't mean to be rude to the guy who designed him but I could do a better job. I don't like how some games seems to just throw in a boring looking character I like the name I think its kool, but I do not think its suits the faces l am sorry but it doesn't I would really hope they make a more interesting look to the character, other than a fat faces, buzz cut what ever hair do thing he has and push some really quality looking characters. we have all these aliens that looks the biz but when it comes to humans or making new humans its bald space marine with huge arms and face...

I would like to see a better looking character and if need be I will make a new character design because I really like the game for the characters and well the game haha! but seriously please change the character design don't have a bald space marine!

@rapscallioness I, personally, don't know.
Haven't heard neither a confirmation nor a denial of that theory and the Known Features thread doesn't have any information about that neither.

It'd be interesting that's for sure, it'd bring a different dynamic between the two but James, as far as I know, isn't a very uncommon name and it'd probably be one Hell of a coincidence if he were.



@UNICOMICS Opinions about someone's looks are all about taste so no need to apologise.

This isn't the first thread made for a character we know nothing about here on BSN, Fenris from DA2 had a character thread before people even knew he's real name.


On regard of his looks. The fact that he's "normal" and not all that attractive is actually what I find interesting about him since he's actually the first human character like that.
And I really wouldn't go as far as calling him boring -yet- since, like you said, we know so little about him. So I'll reserve my judgement of that aspect of him until I know more about him, for now I just find him refreshing after
Miranda and Jacob.

Massive agreement here, I kinda like the Grunt-ish look for him, sure he could do with a few slight changes, no doubt that'll happen. And calling someone boring when know nothing of his personality isn't really just.

Please this! We did in ME1 with Garrus then it just got dropped. Having a Paragon or Renegade Vega sounds like a cool idea IMO

Second, he can very well turn into a Shepard fanboy, something I would hate. I already have Tali telling me how wonderful, handsome and amazing my Shepard is, I don't need Jimmy to do the same.

Plus, I was under the impression that he was a veteran. I don't see how much there is to learn. I get a Carver-vibe from him, for some reason. This pleases me.

So you'd rather drag someone to bed than teach him new tricks as a soldier? Haven't we enough of that in the other characters?

Also, he's a veteran as a soldier, but not as a space galavanting commando, dealing with alien races in other ways than pointing a gun at them. Plenty of room to train him. Besides, we don't know what proficiency or experience he has, or even what rank. Being a veteran doesn't have to make you an N7 class operative.

And that's a problem, how? If he decided to be my apprentice, my student, I wouldn't romance him. I don't see how hard it is to understand.
