How does Vega even have fans? I guess Marcus Fenix 2.0 is a very deep and engaging character
No offense but seriously guys! C'mon! He's a brick with a voice box as shown in the beta videos
As Sky was saying on page 220, he seems like the gentle giant type. He is huge, but he doesn't have one of those deep, dumb, beefy meathead voices you would normally associate with the typical tank stereotype in a video game. He sounds like a smart tank; not like they just turned the hunky alpha male stereotype up to 11.
I've avoided almost all spoilers, so I know nothing about this Fehl incident people are talking about, but just the way he talks to Shepard in the leaked beta makes him very appealing. He respects the rank and file, the chain of command, even when he doesn't have to--it's a show of support for Shepard in the very first scene we've seen him in.
It's not just his looks that draw attention to him, either. Muscles don't make me drool, and he's not the type I look for in real life, but I still find Vega appealing. I'm looking forward to getting to know him in the game.
I also like the fact that Shepard will mentor him. He's not only the "new player stand-in" to new players; he's that to me, too--I look forward to having those "review ME1 & 2" conversations with him. It will give veteran players a bit of a chance to relive the glory days with a character that appreciates those kind of stories. Hell, it's like talking to new fans of the series--"and all this happened without us ever knowing?" Yes, yes it did. And it was awesome.
Sometimes you just have a good feeling about someone. That's the case with Vega for some of us. I feel like he is well thought-out. I sense that he has a certain amount of wisdom and an amiable temperament. For now, that's enough for me to like him, and my gut tells me that will only increase the more time my Sheps spend hanging with him.
