Looks like a jarhhead...not exactly an interesting character. However given this I doubt he's bi so I'm hoping this means Garrus and Joker are the options. Who knows, maybe it's just me being hopeful.

He didn't say can't just doubtful.
I was going to ask the same thing but it' kinda sorta makes sense.

Especially if you combine it with what people are saying about Vega being designed to appeal to the Macho Shooter crowd. If that's the case and he really is sort of "default macho space marine that only cares about guns and boobs and will appeal to mountain dew chugging halo fans" making him bi would be sort of counter productive.
The s/s romance part would probably put off the "boobs and guns!" market.
The "boobs and guns!" mentality would put off the s/s romance wanting market....

If he doesn't appeal to either audience he sort of fails at being a character.

Mind you that's based entirely on that assumption. It could be BS and Vega could be a Thoreau quoting, gun toting, trascendental death machine. In which case being a bi jarhead becomes less doubtful.

Exactly. Did a quick sketch based on the outline of his body visible behind the armor. Notice how much oversized the torso part of the armor is. He is big, bigger than Shepard and Kaidan, but frankly, doesn't look bigger than Jacob who was practically running in a tight catsuit unlike Vega in his ridiculous armor.

I present to you COMPELLING EVIDENCE that James Vega is the Big Ben sniper in the ME3 teaser trailer!

I had the sudden urge to do some back trackin' in the Mass Effect General Discussion forum and found a thread from November of last year. This thread was made a bit before Bioware showed us a mini-teaser of the ME3 teaser trailer, along with those barcode thingies.

Anyway, on page 20, one of the mini-teaser images caught my attention. If I had seen the image at the time of the posting, I wouldn't have made the connection, but now, now I see it! With that said, have a lookie!



What we have here is a zoomed in shot of Victor, a robot from Fallout New Vegas. ZOOMED IN. That's a clue! To what? Sniper rifles, of course! Who uses a sniper rifle in the teaser? Big Ben! Ah, wait, there's more! As I said, Victor's from FNV. We all know that's short for Fallout New Vegas. Bet you know where this is going!

Now I know why Casey said it wasn't really a name change. Vega's always been Vega. Sanders was more or less a cover concocted by Bioware. Sneaky sons-of-a-gun they are!

So, there you go. YAY! Vega's the Big Ben sniper! How cool is that?

Oh, right, I'm still gonna say Sam Worthington's voicing Vega. The trailer narrator sounds so much like him. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I hope I'm not. Women don't like being wrong, especially us gamer women. We're an odd lot to be sure. Also, here's an image of SW alongside Vega. He looks quite a bit like him, I think.

If it's true that the name Sanders was just used to screw with us then it can still be 100% true.

But then I don't think Vega is Big Ben either. Not because the dev's said so though. Dev's lie. Priestly lies more because he's evil.
I just think Big Ben was never intended for anything other than the trailer. I like him in it and I wished he was in game but, as someone else said in another thread, Big Ben is on earth waiting for Shepard with no idea what's going on... How can he be a squaddie?

It'd be nice if Vega was british though...
