It'd be nice if he's an experienced soldier- more than capable of handling himself in a fight- but specifically naive to the reality of the galaxies darker side. The GI article mentions his ignorance of the "seedy underbelly" specifically.
I'd like to see him be knowledgable but wrong. Not oblivious and stupid just a bit naive and gullible.

But then I also think there's the possiblity that the GI article was slightly misleading. Politics and current events could easily apply to Cerberus and everything Shep did in the last game.
Vega's an Alliance soldier. Unlike Shep and the crew he wouldn't know all the inner working and backroom dealings that pretty much made up all of ME2.
From his perspective Shepard was an N7 hero who became the first human spectre, saved the galaxy, was declared dead, and then turned up working for a terrorist organization scouring the galaxy building a private army.

Anyway, I totally love Vega. He will be a total military battle-bro to my Femsheps (but not creepy 'TAKE ME NAO' attitudes like with Jacob, ugh) He, Garrus and my main Femshep can yak on about their sniper kills. Or something.

But I'm glad there is a homosexual romance opinion, ya boo sucks to those flinging a bigot fit over it. Two of my Sheps are gay; my first pounced on Liara while I figured my gay Manshep would be forever alone. D: So I'm glad he now has someone to be his pillow (or vice versa) during the Reaper apocalypse hehe.

But really, I just can't wait to see how Bioware handles the romance XD I wonder if it would be super cheesy...Not that cheesy is bad. I like cheese.

@ Zombie. I would figure late 20s, maybe early 30s? He doesn't look that old. But then, humans can reach 150 in the ME universe.
