It's just very logical assumption for new character to be s/s romance, especially since many people are against for most squadies to become bisexual.

While he does look like someone from Jersey Shore I will wait till I know the following things before I judge him... Voice Actor, class Abilities, Background, Personality, and general all round likableness.

Knowing pretty much nothing about his personality and going only on his design, I'm optimistic about Vega. He at the very least doesn't look like anyone else in a series where humans don't get very distinctive designs. I know guys who look like that, and I definitely know soldiers who look like that. The only thing I really dislike appearance-wise is the mohawk. I'll refrain from declaring him the worst squadmate ever until I get more information.

But now that I actually know her she is very okay to me. Not my type of character, but she's okay.

I don't. It wasn't a comment about the Dragon Age team, it was a comment about the fan reactions to their decision making process in the game. There's a key difference.
