Most of the people who want him as an LI don't seem the type to get angry like that. Disappointed, sure. But not "rage".

Nah we're the relaxed group. We know full well there's a chance he won't be an LI.FitScotGaymer wrote...

I doubt there'd be much rage.
I do think he will be an LI though, because new players may find it weird to romance character that shepard has already known for a while. but they themselves know nothing about, so James being new and the player being new might work well together.

Didn't say everyone or the entire group.
Personally I am quite looking forward to meeting Mr Vega; and wouldnt at all complain if he was an LI (just going by his looks. i like me some beefcake lol.).
I was just referring to a small minority of the community who get all butthurt about the silliest things.

So the guy that hosts the BiowareTV stuff is wearing a jacket with a bunch of ME patches and one of them is the same Sword-Lightning-Alliance logo from Vega's T-shirt and it def. says Special Forces on it.
So there goes the silly idea that he's completely naive newbie soldier who has no idea what to do.

Also, we definitely need more Sgt. Whiskers!
Someone should tweet one of the devs and ask for a Sgt. Whiskers easter egg.

There was never any doubt that he was a skilled soldier. He has been described as a seasoned Systems Alliance soldier from the start. He just has no knowledge of the Reapers and galactic politics. He's a soldier and that's about it, pretty much in the same fashion like Ash was in ME1.

That was David Silverman I think. His little suit he had going on there totally reminds me of Starship Troopers. I love it
Anyway, I don't know where people get the idea that Vega is an inexperienced soldier. We know he's a, to put it simply, a "noob" when it comes to politics, or the inner-workings of the galactic community *blah blah blah* - how that reflects on his performance as a soldier, I don't know.
On another note ...
I love some of the comments comparing him to Gears of War - I myself have compared ME3 *what we've seen* to GoW's combat, cover system is obviously similar, but ME seems more tactical*.
But anyway, comparing him to a GoW character is .... weird to me. I am a GoW fan *it's a great co-op shooter* so I think I can say there is a big difference in both character development and overall concept.
To say Vega belongs in GoW becuase he's got muscle is wrong. Yes, the majority of soldiers *except Carmine* are built like linebackers *Cole basically is one*, and they all carry absurdly heavy looking armor *shiny though!* - Vega is relatively normal. He's fit - it is achievable by human standards - the GoW character's are exaggerated. Fenix and friends are badasses first and foremost. Vega is human.
And by golly, look at my avatar go, that is hypnotising!
On yet another note ...
I may possibly draw some Sgt. Whiskers. Maybe. I'm terrible at drawing cats. Probably because I'm a dog person.

BAHAHAHA!! xD Fantastic~
@Margaret:
That's great
Does this mean Vega's catch phrase is now 'Kittens'?
And another random question, for our little lovely thread:
Do we know Vega's rank? *I'm guessing no, but doesn't hurt to ask.*
...
Right?
