I thought the Sam Worthington thing was just a wish from some of the Vega fans on this board. Bioware is keeping pretty mum on anything about him and have not said a thing about who his VA is, only that he's apparently 'nailed it.'

There is no way Sam Worthington would be Vega. He is too big of an actor right now to do a side role. If anything he would be play Shepard. Remember the last 3 movies he´s done was Avatar, Clash of the Titans, and Terminator Salvation. Like I said no way he will be a side character

In a way you are correct. They are legends, but there comes a time to step aside and they can´t be main characters. Those roles you just mentioned are still support roles

I loved Alistair's voice in DA, but I can't picture the same voice for Vega. He looks like someone who'd have a deeper voice. Sam Worthington is a good match, but like everyone else said, he's probably too big of an actor right now to do a voice.

I wouldn't cross it out completely though, we've already had huge actors doing just a few lines for a game before (TIM is an obvious example) and I get the feeling that Mass Effect 3 doesn't have such a limited budget as in the previous games.

I don't think Vega has such a small role as everyone thinks though. We might be surprised by his involvement in the third game.

And it's totally normal to have Carrie-Anne Moss as side character?

Speaking of celebrities in game, main character require far more time to record, so celebrity VA should find place in schedule for this project; and this also will cost more. Not that big roles, especially cameos, are more likely.

And on unrelated note: I've just noticed that Anderson refers to Vega as "Lieutenant". Is it possible that "Lieutenant!" in Earth demo also refers to him, not to Ashley?

Maybe. I just thought Anderson calls Jeff "Joker" all the time, but now checked the opening and saw the first time it's actually so (Joker! Status report), but in second time it's actually "Lieutenant" (He's already here, Lieutenant).
Ahh, in this game every second person is lieutenant. Forzan vas Idenna was apparently the last straw for my patience.
