..you play a miner, and the whole game is the mining/probing minigame? The gameplay that they've shown is just the dreams of the miner at night that he makes up from hearing about Shepards exploits on TV. The game ends when you reach 10,000,000 of each resource.
I personally think that would be a great twist.
What would you do if The Ilusive Man is revealed to be Charlie Sheen with genetic enhancements, the oldest living human being and the creator of the reapers? The Reapers were Sheens pet cuttlefish that he infused with Tigers Blood.
*spoilers* I have talked to some people at Bioware, and they've hinted that this is going to be the big twist in ME3 (Charlie Sheen is TIM).

I also heard from Bioware that the only dialog option that Shepard has in this game is "I should go". They said they want to streamline the game a bit more.
