So, with this "All weapons from ME2 will return."  business from PCG and the addtion of weapon mods. I'd like to point out a rifle most players may not have; the Collector Assault Rifle.

masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Collector_Assault_Rifle

Right now the only way to get this (for 360) is to get the Collector's ED. of ME2 (Good luck with that.)
-I think it might unlock if you get DDE for PC and link it with your gamertag.

So, how much support will the old ME2 weapons get? Will the Mattock get modable scopes, camo, grips, underslung jellyfish launcher, etc. and the 'ol Collector Assault Rifle will get.. what?

Also, has anyone asked if the heavy weapons will get mods too? A laser tag for the Cain? An air bast for the Firestorm?

It's not dumb, it was great for shredding shields but lacked the finishing power of other weapons. Personally I found the other AR's better, and only used the Collector AR for flavor.

Exactly.I was wondering about the Collectors (seemly) reduced role in ME3 and where one could even get replacement parts for your Collector rifle much less scopes and mods.

Hell, what about the Geth pluse rifle? I bet not a lot of players are even aware that it's there.

^^ The Geth Plasma Rifle did the same thing. So, the Collector Assault Rifle wouldn't be a huge loss.

I purchased the CE edition, and have used the armor and weapon a grand total of about 30 minutes.

The Collector Assault Rifle wasn't nearly as good as later AR's.

If it DOES return in ME3, I want it improved VASTLY.

Currently its got 28 rounds a clip, 280 total ammo, and was pretty weak.

I'd prefer if for ME3 it was made to be a little stronger, have some 35-40 rounds a clip, and have 350-400 total ammunition.

This way it'd be a viable choice for actual USE rather than simple AESTHETICS.

Cause the gun looks AWESOME. I love the way it looks, its reload, its sounds. All of it.

I just wish it was a better gun. The Mattock annihilates it. Hell, the Vindicator does too.

While I understand your qualms with the weapons, I'd like to see the same level of customization (to a point of course) as any other weapon.

It looks great when worn with the Collector Armor.

It's innacurate and does terrible damage. (Not in the good way)

Its not inaccurate. At least it wasn't for me.

It retained its accuracy quite well, as a matter of fact. Even on the move.

It was a good weapon for your squadmates. It was excellent at destroying shields, yet didnt have the power to finish enemies off, meaning they could'nt steal your kill!

Ha.

It'd be hard for me to go back to the Collector AR after having the Mattock.

Collector's assault rifle was one of the coolest guns in the game. Not one of the best, but easily one of the coolest. I praise Cerberus for constructing such an awesome gun.

Err...you mean the Collectors. All that was changed about the gun that we used is that it was made to accept heat sinks.

If you linked your gamertag and your pc Mass Effect 1 & 2 stuff with EA Online Account and you get the Geth Plasma Rifle and Collector Assault Rifle on PC they transfer over to your xbox account. I can verify this.

I think they made the collector rifle not so good late-game for balancing issues. Its awesome at the beginning and gives those who got the CE a cool in game gun that helps a fair bit in the beginning. But in the end everyone can get the same game experience, that seems more important to BioWare than making something so exclusive that it alienates some players who didn't want to dish out extra $$$ for a CE.

The Collector AR to me has the sickest aesthetics and such. Awesome looking and sounding gun.

I know it was made the way it was for balancing issues, but hell, they really should've made it better.

I know for a fact that I hardly use the Avenger(once off Freedom's Progress, its bye bye).

Since the Collector's AR is comparable to that, you catch my drift.

From TIM:

"Shepard,

Our researchers have been working with captured Collector technology for some time now. They've developed an experimental armor suit in your size and an assault rifle that the techs say should take a standard thermal clip. I had the items delivered to the Normandy's armory.

Good hunting."

They developed the rifle from scratch using captured collector technology by the sound of it.

Basically, once you have the Phalanx, Mattock, Locust, and Eviscerator, you don't really need change your weapon loadout, except for sniper rifles (the Incisor was the worst sniper rifle I ever used in a game, I wouldn't even give it to my squad) and heavy weapons.

I often switch between different guns to add to the challenge. The loadout you posted is awesomely powerful but gets dull eventually.

Same here, not only do I hate the fact that you cannot remove your helmet but the assualt rifle is really crappy, too few bullets and so weak in power. Total falure. This why I have not preorderd the N7 edition for ME3. Honestly i can live without the art book and so on. What's really important for me is the really extra in gameplay. So far all BIOWARE  extra content from colleters edition is crap. DA2 SE was also crap, the only good thing was the Addar of Antiva the rest of the stuff was junk, and Hazards Razer was free you only needed to play the demo to get it. Me2 was awesome but the collectors edition thing is crap.

I can't say I didn't experiment. I tried switching back and forth between the Phalanx and Carnifex several times because the laser sight disappeared on me in certain areas, preventing me from aiming with any sort of accuracy. But in the end, they all have the same multiplyers against armor, shields, etc so the higher base damage is the only difference. And on higher difficulties, it is required to take down enemies as fast as you can or you're going to be overwhelmed fast.

The Incisor is horrible for Shepard but is actually the best sniper rifle to give to squadmates.

Its been well documented that for some reason, squaddies equipped with the Incisor are ridiculously accurate when using it. Mainly because(I think) since its a 3 burst sniper rifle, they need to make sure all three hits are headshots.

It does A LOT of damage in the hands of squadmates. The only sniper wielding squadmate I don't give the Incisor to is Legion, and in reality I do give it to him, only up until the point where he gets the Widow Anti-Material Rifle.
