I'm hoping most of the side quest will tend to tie into the main storyline for the most part. I.E. getting reinforcements to fight the reapers or looking for other ways to fight them.

There are side missions. In fact, the game rewards those who are thorough with the side missions later on.

We're going to a lot of species' homeworld, I'm sure there will be a lot of exploring just from doing that. I, myself, aren't a fan of those side-quests, especially those found in ME1. They just seem to all be the same, and quite repetitive. If they make long main story missions, and fewer side-missions, that'd be great. Only if the side-missions actually gets you involved in the story too, though, as most just...don't in the past.

Exploration and non linear progression (side quests etc) are essential if im to buy.

If they must have sidequests again I hope they are related to the main plot. Call me too much of a role-player but I had a seriously hard time justifying putting The Race Against Time on the backburner in order to help a prostitute achieve reconciliation with a client.

Finally someone who both understands and can formulate it short and precise.

Leaked script showed plenty of sidequests and should they remain as they are I can already say they are the best side quests in the whole trilogy.

The dev's have already said that you will be able to explore AND do multiple missions on a single planet such as saving a colony or rescueing a downed cargo ships crew.

do you people just not read the articles that show up in gameing magazines? Bioware and the mass effect team have said, repeativley, that you will have sidequest and exploration ability. Even better, you won't get penealized for doing them, because the story in mass effect 3 will only advance with doing main storylines, so you can take all the time you want doing sidequest and exploring the galaxy without having to worry about a countdown timer like in mass effect 2 whne your crew gets abducted.

I really hope that helps keep most of this irrational fear and dissapointment to rest.
