Hi
So last month i activated my one month xbox live gold free trial, with the intent to upgrade after but i didn't have enough money left as i had spent it on microsoft points, which i used to buy pinnacle station, bring down the sky, the arrival and some elder scrolls IV DLC. Now that the xbox live trial has run out and i am no longer connected to the internet on my xbox, whenever i go to play mass effect 1 i get an error message telling me that the DLC cannot be accessed and needs to be re-downloaded.
I would like to know what has happened. Do i need to be connected to xbox live to play them? Will i have to upgrade to full xbox live gold in order to re-download them and if so will i have to pay for them again?
I would greatly appreciate it if someone helped me. My exams are almost over (less than a week) and i want to spend most of my summer getting a save ready for when Mass Effect 3 is released, i will be of course purchasing the collectors edition :D and yes i have no life >.<

Thanks :)

This is not official support. That was provided by Microsoft, as I recall.

This is Gamer to Gamer Self-Help. Summer is here, and most everyone is out of doors, not inside. You'll have to use the archives, or just wait. The game has gotten quite old for a console product. Not many who are familiar with that version come around any more. I have never owned any console; never had the slightest interest. In other words, I personally can't help. Sorry

I'll check the archives... Thanks for you're input it's been bugging me for hours now. As for being outdoors, i have severe hayfever allergies and have to spend most of my summer indoors, it is miserable.

I was very allergic as a relatively small person, but adolescence ended most of that. Houston (Texas) gave me some of those allergies back again, and my sinuses have never been the same since I lived there, but I get outdoors anyway, and just keep tissues nearby for my runny nose and itchy eyes.

Use either Google or Yahoo, not the forum's own search (it is very badly broken, and always has been), just add redirection:

You don't need an Xbox Live Gold account to download DLC. You can sign up for a free silver account and sign onto Xbox Live that way. Your account should have downgraded to a silver account when your time ran out. I don't understand why you're having trouble connecting to Xbox Live.

I don't understand why it's throwing you the error. You should be able to play your DLC offline. Connect to XBL again using your silver account and redownload all the DLC. Then try it.

The other question is, did you download Bring Down the Sky, or did you install it from the Platinum Hits version of Mass Effect? If you downloaded both, you shouldn't have a problem. If you installed BDtS, delete it and Pinnacle Station. Then clear your cache, then download Pinnacle Station, then download Bring Down the Sky.

I bought Mass Effect on release day so it wasn't from the platinum version. Both were downloaded from the xbox live marketplace.
I cannot access xbox live at home, only at my dads... i'm there on saturday so i shall try then.
Thanks for all you're help.
Will let you know if it works. :)
