That is not a reaper ship... So no OP, Reapers are NOT Transformers.
Isn't that what precisely what begs the question?
It is not the "classic" Reaper model, yet it is called a Reaper.
Is it a "female" Reaper? (stupid suggestion, but you see what I'm saying here).

Shepard: Sovereign is not some reaper ship, its an actual reaper! - or something along those lines.
Now we have this:
Shepard: This is not a reaper base, its an actual reaper! - lol

I edited my reply, but this is what I added:
What you posted in your video is no different then the enemy which we had to fight twice in ME2 (at the end of the Horizon, and once in the Collector vessel). Its a living constructed of melded bodies and reaper tech into a "mini boss".
Edit again: Or it could be a mini platform Reaper.. It wouldn't be surprising that some Reapers are only built to be so big to perform the required ground wars. These would be stored and saved in the bigger Reaper ships. As the invasion video shows Reapers ships of all sizes, super 2k+ Dreadnoughts along with 100 meter big ones also.
What was shown in the tech video is what I believe was a build "Reaper" platform (again, not a star ship) with the parts/tech that Cerberus cell could build. Not a female and a transformed Reaper ship as seen before, but something new as built by Cerberus <- but that is only my opinion and deduction

Well that was indicating the notion that Reapers were just not a race of evil bastards, but infact the ship themselves as a whole was the evil bastard.
I'm not sure how in context in ME3 that line is used, but come gameplay, it will make sense - somewhat.

Hahaha... yeah. I was thinking that, too.

I see what you mean, but how could Cerebus "build" a Reaper? Isn't genetic material on a massive scale needed?
And I feel like there's a big difference between a "Reaper constructed weapons platform" and a "Reaper" proper.
Again, I see where you're coming from, but the context of the scene/dialogue make me feel otherwise.

From what we know, you only need genetic material to create a reaper core .. the aka "larva".. after that its just a battle shield built around it (using normal ship building materials); which then houses troops, etc, etc.
We know Soverien was big enough to house troops as it brought Geth, husks and Saren (along with a Shuttle) with them to Eden Prime.
We don't know if Cerbrus used some genetics or not to create a much smaller "larva" for its weapons platform as seen in the E3 demo. But in the end, its still a "Reaper"..

True, but by the same token, we don't know if Cerebus created it or merely have aligned themselves with it.
To the best of my knowledge, we don't even of that they aren't there trying to take it out as well. They may have been sent there to disable it, but saw Shepard and took the opportunity to try to kill him as well.

I don't see what's so difficult to comprehend about this. Reapers are not, by strict definition, limited to only 2km long dreadnoughts. They have many forms designed for specific purposes. You would not say that the geth are transformers, based on the existence of geth hunters and geth collosi. They are simply two different mobile platforms the geth utilize when the capabilities of a given platform are advantageous for completing a specific task.
In other words, you need to dispel from your mind that Reapers can only ever be 2km-long dreadnought warships. They come in a variety of shapes and forms.

During the extended demo, Shep is overheard saying, "It's not a Reaper base, it's a Reaper," when a walking machine begins chasing him and crew before being bombarded by an air strike.
So, are The Reapers living machines that can transfor... I mean, "change" from large dreadnaughts to somewhat smaller walking tanks akin to Scarabs in the Halo universe?
Does this explain what is seen here: www.youtube.com/watch at the 9 second mark?
Discuss!
No, they are giant cyborgs inside War of the Worlds walker ships.

Why not? Where is there any previous evidence of Reapers that are anything BUT 2 km long dreadnaughts?
The Geth have been explained as being multiple pieces of hardware with programs downloaded into them. This has been established. Therefore, I accept it.
Why should the Reapers be the same way? After all, don't the Heretics worship the Reapers? Maybe this is one trait they possess that the Geth want to emulate. Just because the Geth can't do it doesn't mean the Reapers necessarily can't.
OK, so maybe they're not ALL 2km-long dreadnaughts. Maybe some are slightly smaller. Maybe some (like that scarab-beetle looking thing next to Harbinger in the closing of ME2) are shaped differently. But why should I accept a priori that the Reapers are anything BUT what they've been depicted as so far?

Not all reapers are the same size. Not all reapers look alike. Some will be kilometers long...others not so big. They are not transformers.
OK, they're not the same size and they do not all look alike. I can grasp that. Mutations and variances in ALL things, yes. Sounds reasonable. (HONESTLY didn't mean to sound like Mordin there)
But, the things being shown in the demo look like something all together different, yet they are labelled as something we have seen and have a fairly standard shape. So, how can these things be classified as the same if they look so radically different?
Isn't there that chance that they CAN shape-shift (I'm sorry, that they can www.youtube.com/watch )? Why should we just assume, "Oh yeah, there are several different types of Reapers?" That'd be like assuming that Asari are just humans with blue skin and different looking heads.
