I know there's supposed to be some more CDN articles leading up to the release of ME3. Perhaps we'll be hearing reports of Batarian colonies going silent.

And not a single f*** was given that day. Seriously, good riddance we got rid of those cockroaches.
Even if all Batarians aren't extinct there should be incredibly weakened. Their military would probably be non-existent as they would be fighting a losing battle. So they would end up being crippled. And since they are too proud & stubborn to ask for help, they will all slowly wither & die.

I doubt wrecking just one relay served the batarian race on a plate for the Reapers to chew.

Also, as far as I'm aware, the only relay in batarian space that the Reapers intended on using just got wiped out by an asteroid crash. And if I remember correctly, this forced them to enter the galaxy "on foot", so, unless they entered through the Terminus systems, there's no reason to think that the batarians got wiped out first.

At least we won't have to fight a all-out war with the batarians now. Just a Reaper invasion which should be a cake walk, right ?

The thing is, the relay that they were heading to would have sent them to the Alpha relay system regardless. Destroying the Alpha relay prevented them from using the relay to invade. Now they must fly using "conventional" FTL drives(haha) to the next closest relay. My guess is that there are some Batarian colonies along the way, so the Reapers stopped by for a light snack. :P

Why are we assuming the game will start when the reapers have already invaded Earth?

Yes and No

The game will 95 % sure start in the court chambers when we will hear the last words beeing told and Shepherds is going to hear his sentence (he would be foud guilty), but in the very last moment before hearing it out Reaper invazion commances and a droppod willed will husks lands directly in the middle of a hall.

You can almost make bets that I am right to a smallest detail :)

1) and what if Shepard would warned batarians? Do you seriously think they'd listen to human?
2) batarians should have checked why humans chose this relay and sure as hell would notice the reapers armada there. Or notice the same armada conquering their planets. I wonder why didn't they warned Council and another races?

I doubt the entire race was wiped out just because there are batarian husks. Have forgotten the massive hordes of human husks we fought in ME1 and 2? I bet all the human husks killed in the first 2 games, not to mention all of them we'll see in ME3, far, far outnumber the amount of batarian husks we'll see, and the human race was not even close to having been wiped out.

Also, as was seen in the new ME3 game trailer, humans were evacuated from Earth when the Reapers hit. I doubt the batarians just sat there and let themselves be killed. Some of them would have escaped.

Yeah but Human Husk in previous games  werent used as invasion forceds just small to medium bands in most cases "made" acidentaly (finding Dragon Spikes etc.)
To invade a 12 billion denizen planet you would need significant army - right ?

I didn't see a friendly or likable Batarian in the first 2 games, so I might as well don't care if they were all wiped out.. "let the mother****ers burn"

Wow, I'm a bit surprised by all this Batarian hate.

Also, I'm sure the batarians are not all dead. We have Asari and Human husks aswell.

Why? Their first-hand presentation to the player is unequivacally unlikeable.

Because not all Batarians are terrorists.

I came in here to tell you that you spelled "Shepard" and "Batarian" wrong. :)

And this is obviously just more assumptions.

1. I tried to warn them.
2. I didn't have a choice.

How much time was on the countdown clock when Shepard first saw it like 48 hours? You believe that even if you warned the Batarians (assuming they believe you, which they won't) they can amass an army on time to fight back the Reapers invasion before the two days are up? Seems to me the situation was f$*ked either way. Shepard was also sedated for 2 days and when you make to contact with the Normandy there is only 1 hour left before the reapers come.

There are lots of human husks before the reapers came to earth. Doesn't mean humanity's wiped out...yet.

Speaking of which I remember seeing something naming several types of husk varianst, like a human/batarian one that eats bodies or something. I looked on the fact threads but I couldn't find the damn thing again.

I don't wish the death of any race.. but the Batarians were doomed no matter what we do. At least they didn't die for nothing with us blowing up the relay.
