Also, Aria is one of the best non-squadmate characters in the entire series. Why would you want her replaced?

I agree! Aria for squadmate in ME3!  ;)

Well my personal feeling is all LIs should return. Fair is Fair and everyone's story deserves a satisfactory conclusion.

Although, sad as it is, Thane returning would be very unlikely.

Agree on all former LIs, to one extent or another. I don't know if they need to be full squadmates for the entire game, though. I think that having some of them be companions for large portions of the game at a time, but then you split into seperate teams because they need to do something to stop the Reapers in one place while you're in another. And then the story reconnects you occassionally until or leading up to story moments.

Some of the old companions I see as being a lot more independent when the **** actually hit the fan, or having other concerns that would make them allies of Shepard, and even fighting companions for a time, but then refocusing them on what's best for the war effort.

As for Thane, I almost feel like Thane returning as a full squadmate would cheapen his character and the romance, but at the same time, if they pull some deus ex romantica to bring him back, I hope it's a fittingly cinematic moment.

Well Jack's not comming back in MY Mass Effect 3.  If Miranda's so perfect why couldn't she keep the damn shield up in the suicide mission...

I'd like her a little more if she were't bald.

I would rather Mordin, Thane, Miranda, Samara, even Jacob over Jack as a permanent squad member. The only squaddie I liked less than Jack was Grunt.

I romanced her twice and use her over Samara and Miranda all the time. I hope she's back, seeing as she is one of my favorite people in the the series.

This. Although, I respect the OP's and other opinions. I hope it won't be much of a killjoys for them if she actually comes back. It sounds to me that, her being more mature than before could also make her a more likable character to the fans who didn't liked her much.

If what you mean is that there are other characters that make more sense to be "permanent squadmates" then yes, I see where you're coming from. However there are other reasons why characters will be squadmates in ME3: popularity, whether or not they're an LI, balance of classes on the team. In a perfect world you'd be able to construct your own team in ME3, unfortunately that just isn't feasible. At least not at present.

Has any ME books or comics or anything confirmed that Aria is Wrex's assari commando buddy from his story in ME1 or is that still just a strong suspicion?  Would be a great way storywise to get her on the team if it's true.

Jacob over Jack???!!!

It was the Priiiiiiize wasn't it?   :P Teasing!  just kidding :)

That said, I liked most to all of them.  Still, I did like Jack because she was different.  Of the females I would rather see Miranda missing.  I loved Samara/Morinth   I found Miranda extremely boring.  To each their own.    I just didn't care for Jacob. I always got the feeling he never really was listening to me. lol

i dunno...Jack seems to have her own thing going on. storywise, it doesnt make sense outside of LI to have her as a squad member.

I am guessing the OP is a Miranda fan, I don't mind having Jack on board and when I destroy cerberus and put TIM out of his misery I am making sure she is in my squad at the time.

Jack is an amazing and deep character whose multi layered personality deserves to be explored unlike that shallow terrorist ice queen Miranda Lawson.

I like Jack -and- Miranda, for different reasons although both are more than they appear on the surface, and want them both to return in ME3 in key roles. Am I weird or something?

I killed Jack in my game, if she's a squaddie in the 3d game does this mean i wont be able to play with full squad? Same question for Garrus and Tali, cause thats 3 total member's off...?

i hope so, not having consquences for having people die would be pretty dumb.

its SUPER easy to have everyone live through ME2.

No, you're not weird. You just want Miranda's lovely lady lumps back. Perfectly normal for a guy.

Anywho, Jack has no reason to truly come back. She seems more useful as a temp than a permanent squaddie. Nothing against fans but Mordin, Grunt, Jack, Samara/Morinth, Thane, Zaeed, Kasumi, and arguably Legion and Jacob returning make absolutely no sense since those characters either have found a larger purpose than playing posse to Shepard (Mordin, Grunt, Legion, and Jacob), are dying, or made it very clear from the get-go that they were joining temporarily and had plans of their own for the future. Jack was an untrusting loner who joined for the files and she plans on her revenge, to make her finally find some "higher purpose" than her own gratification would be a larger character derailment than anything they could do to Ashley.

She should appear again when you're finally taking down Cerberus, but aside from that it make no sense to have her onboard the Normandy.:?

Yeah, Ellen Ripley doesn't need to be back as a squad member.

I don't understand why people hate Jack so much. What's so wrong with her, that you want her dead? And don't say it's because she has tattoos and a shaved head! There's nothing wrong with being bald or having sublime tattoos..........

"I got Jack killed."  Because she's a psychopath?  She's not a psychopath.  You, however, are, as disliking someone is not grounds for getting them killed.  Roleplaying reason?  Unless your Shepard has a habit of twirling his handlebar mustache, and tying Nell Fenwick to train tracks, in which case he's a psychopath, Shepard has no reason to get any character killed.  Conviently forgetting ship upgrades?  Was the only ship upgrade that Shepard forgot to purchase the armor upgrade?  Convenient indeed.  Might that Shepard also have forgotten to purchase other ship upgrades?   "Headcanon?"  Non-canon, and therefore I don't have to respect your opinion, nor your justification, and neither does Bioware.  Not roleplaying, or meta-gaming?  Also non-canon.

As for reasons why she should return, she's warmed up to Shepard, and we know from her past that she seeks belonging among likeminded people, criminals and cultists alike.  She's never had anyone she's known that she can trust, however, and Shepard is that person.

ME2 had several biotic teammates, and, let's face it, Jack should have been far more powerful in terms of gameplay mechanics than she was, and we weren't given an Adept squadmate who wasn't temporary (Liara).  If Bioware insists on classifying her as a Vanguard, she'll be the Vanguard-archetype that the team is lacking.

So, yeah.  Jack for permanent ME2 squadmate.  Other confirmed ME3 squadmates could have died in ME2.  That's not a reason to not have Jack back.  In fact, that's roleplaying - living with the consequences of your actions.
