Shrieks are much taller than elves though. Maybe darkspawnization comes with growth spurt? Or it's the diet.

Actually that could be fun. Also very handy. No problem to find the right gift for them, too. No romance to worry about. Never whining about PC's decisions. Perfect tank. And as long as you've got an elf to carry it...

(Interesting variant on "I want a pony", btw. I wish Oghren had gone that route in Awakening "Hey, Commander You, I want a gorilla!")

Well I'd like for the gorilla to be smart like a Mabari, giving disapproving grunts and whatnot. And if you make him mad, he flings poop at you!

Seriously, I'm imagining a gorilla in a set of Silverite Chainmail and it's making me laugh. Which makes me want a gorilla as a companion even more.

You must be using a mod, Deygan's tat's are not that dark. (well at least in my game, maybe PC collectors edition had more textures...I don't know.)

In fact you can see many elves in dao there, the original ones don't look bad now compared to what we have in #2. Imho

It really doesn't matter whatever vision they wanted to achieve they have and we either like it or lump it.

I play on my PS3. And that image was from the wiki and last time I checked they don't use mod images for their official image of an article's character.

Well the main reason for that is you can't play DA2 elves. But after seeing those elves I was completely okay with not playing them. More than fine. Really.

That raises a question: Who would play an Elf in DA2 if they could? I'm with you on this Jack, although I really love playing Elves, I'd break my game if they were the only playable race in the game!

I am most often an elf when I can be.  And even with that...no, no I would not.     Orsino and Fenris, for the new style, were decent.  They were the exception though.  I admire what they were trying to do, I would just not want that particular style for myself.   Just not for me. to each their own.

I'm curious as to what noble Xanthos Aeducan would look like with the new look of the dwarves (which in reality didn't change that much).

Seriously what did they change about the dwarves?

there faces were generaly much more angular and they also seemed to have

yeh i felt the lead elves were done well i realy liked the new look. Unfrtunately alot of the leser characters and back round elves look pretty rancid

On the vanilla game never. I'd only play them on one of my later playthroughs after the modders got in and put better morphs in. But I normally default to playing humans on my main playthroughs. Though my City Elf bride in Origins was one of my favorite runs.

The image size for the da portraits is 146x146 pixels - da2 is much smaller 92x92 - so basically had to blow it up - lose some quality that way - gonna try a different method but uploading is such a pain.
