I preordered the CE a few hours ago but if a bigger edition was ever announced, I would cancel it instantly and order the bigger one. Provided the CE content was included too, of course. If not, i'd have to save up a bit longer and put a second pre-order in :P

Now i'm not completely disappointed since we have FemShep on the box but it would still be nice if there was the chance for an uber edition. There are a lot of folk who would buy it. Voted in the poll.

Regardless it would be nice for some of the suggestions thrown about in the uber edition request thread to appear on the BW Store. Things such as a CD box of all the soundtracks and Shepards dogtags are too good to ignore. If we can't have them in an uber edition, they should still be made and sold on the store.

Please, for love of god, address this concern Bioware. You ask us months in advance for ideas, then expect us to accept a mere "meh, sorry", when it falls through?

You at least owe us an explanation.

I strongly support an "Ultimate/Uber" edition...because I'm a masochist and enjoy the pain of a perpetually empty wallet and bank account. But also because the ME series is the only one, in my many years of gaming, that has me so enamored. I wish there was an edition that could reflect the passion and dedication of the rabid fanbase.

Is such an edition expensive? Yes. Is it out of the reach of many? Yes. That's why they are fewer in number and they are created to cater to those fans who tend toward the extreme edge of the scale. For everyone else, there is the Collector's Edition and the regular edition, both of which cater to their respective target audiences.

I hope BW will change their minds, or come up with a workable solution, and perhaps such an ultimate/uber edition might yet come to light. This is ME3 we're talking about, here; it's the last of one of the greatest series made, the crown jewel, the capstone. To NOT have such an edition is astounding to me, certainly when less well-known or acclaimed games have such an offering.

Of course, if it never sees the light of day, I'll be happy with my CE even if I will be saddened for the lost opportunity BW watched slip by. At least there is something and the CE, while not the most epic I've ever seen, is still darned good. Just not as amazing as an uber edition would have been, imo, and not as epic as ME's culmination deserves.

As it is, it's a pretty run of the mill collectors edition-lite. Steel books & digital items are pretty much the norm, replace the litho with a poster and that's common enough. If the art book is as big as the one from Bioshock 2 or Witcher I'd be happy (but after ME2s art book I have doubts).

Figured it would've been sort of awesome to have a small case with a J. Shepard dogtag or something similar. Just something small and nice to show it's the end of the trilogy =/

Pre-ordered the thing anyway, but I'd hardly call it an 'uber' edition. Heck, I'd barely call anything but the litho remotely unique. Love the company but as you pointed out in post #1, some companies have real 'uber' editions which are well.. uber. Here's hoping BioWare decides to listen and have something special before launch for us.

Someone who has social networking skills and access/influence amongst fellow gamers should make a petition. I know they never (usually) accomplish much, but there no harm in trying, right?

Here's what I think.
The CE is fine. If scale models are the most important deal breakers for some, then why not wait for a company to design and market limited editions of a Normandy, Helmet, etc etc? Wouldn't that be more reasonable?

Personally, I believe that additional content would be more satisfying.
Armor not available for download but included with the CE or downloadable with the CE code.
An Alliance network to replace the Cerberus Network.
A game so huge in depth it needs 3 Discs.
Additional designs for personalization of squad and ones self.

Also, take into account of the economic friendliness of this CE. 79.99. Many can afford it. Parents, students, etc etc.

I know some companies include an additional peripheral, but why is it so difficult to let QMx do the models that you may want? (http://www.qmxonline.com)

All in all, for the price and content it's a great deal. Hopefully, we'll get additional content and maybe even character story arcs later on down the line. CE=Good Deal.

We aren't arguing over the cost/execution of the CE, but rather the absence of the Bioware employee hyped uber CE.

Besides, many games these days have three copies of their game - Regular, collector and uber edition(s) - it seems odd that Bioware, who for their past 5 games (and most likely ME3), refuse to reward their loyal fans with special copies of their games when most significant developers these days regularly include such a choice.

I'd like to be able to buy a physical copy from my country, but that's not gonna happen.
So I'm hoping I won't like whatever they put in an Uber edition whatever

I'd love an "epic" edition so much, like if it had a small normandy model or n7 dogtags ... but yeah gotta wait until its actually able to be preordered in australia first... damn australians stores are always so slow

I do love some of the  "if I can't have it no one should" attitude that gets bandied about.  There is always a way.  No exceptions.  If the money, trouble or if you plain just don't want it fine!  Yay for you. Just don't say no one else should get one that's childish and immature.

Umm duh that's the idea. Also it's optional so no one would be forcing you anyways.

Not with what you guys are suggesting. With what people are willing to pay $150 in this thread, it's almost shocking that EA hasn't come up with a rip-off version.

I support an ultimate edition, but something like a scale model of the Normandy isn't an 'ultimate' present at all. I think a true tribute to the fans has to be something more than a themed paperweight or display.

Say - a signed design notes from pre-ME1 days. Something that enriches the experience of the world and our knowledge of the design of the game.

I strongly support an uber edition. I'd pay $150 for it, hell, I'd pay $300 for it if that's what they asked, but I want physical stuff, not just in game bonus content.

Another example - storyboards from the games.

I love that Bioware polled the community and asked for ideas on an uber edition and I love the ideas that were submitted (dog tags, More digital content, model of the normandy, N7 helmet, etc). It makes me curious as to which ideas made it to the "short list" before uber edition was scrapped? and while I'm asking that, I might as well ask "why did the uber editiion get canceled in the first place?", and "what kind of problems stopped EA and Bioware from making more money?" while I'm at it.

I probably won't ever get an answer to these question due the the fact that the marketing division came away with a little egg on their face ("WE'LL HAVE AN UBER EDITION!.......but not really"), but it's worth a shot

Exactly. Even unreleased sketches, or renditions of characters, places that never made it. Scripts, old notes lying around the office, it's really not that hard to include content that's interesting to fans that are interested in more than just the vanilla game.

I'm happy with what we're getting in the collector's edition, but I'd be ecstatic about an uber edition.  Give me moar, anything ME related that had to do with it's development or is a part of the universe.

I am not personally interested in an "uber" edition which I assume is above the cited collecter's edition.

What I would like to know is how much is the current collector's edition and it there any edition that will just have the game and the extra digital content with the lithograph, book, etc...

Not only that, but this is the THIRD game in the trilogy.

Let me rephrase that:

This is Shepard's last game. Why isn't there more to celebrate it, and to reward fans who've been here since the beginning? Back when they were coming up with Mass Effect 1, they probably didn't know 100% that they would even GET to make a 3rd game.

A comic book? Alternate appearances? These are....not good enough. DLC can always be obtained. The paper used the print the last comic wasn't even that special.

Why not a signed photo by the dev team? Something to show us that this was made my humans, and to enlighten us on the creative process?

If EA wants to see a good uber collectors edition.... look to Witcher 2

Make it more epic than that one!

Honestly I'd assume people would pirate the bonus preorder dlc or CE stuff.

Honestly, I'd pay the $150 if they created a RIDICULOUS amount of extra in-game content(since physical items are probably what's stopping them from releasing one).

Another cool idea would be a copy of Casey Hudson's first proposal of Mass Effect. I hope devs shed some light on the matter. It seems Silverman's tight as a clam on the matter

No. I can top that.

A Gyro. A Greek Gyro from the Greek restaurant the developers went to when they first sat down and talked about the concept of Mass Effect.

With that get some commentary track for the game  or have a dvd that talks about the making of the mass effect trilogy ,not a crappy 15min one, but a legit documentary, 2hrs in length, that covers everything and at the end of watching it all you unlock some dlc  that you cn use in game such as; concept designs for armor, guns, ships, people, etc.
