We aren't arguing over the cost/execution of the CE, but rather the absence of the Bioware employee hyped uber CE.
Besides, many games these days have three copies of their game - Regular, collector and uber edition(s) - it seems odd that Bioware, who for their past 5 games (and most likely ME3), refuse to reward their loyal fans with special copies of their games when most significant developers these days regularly include such a choice.
Not trying to argue but fans are loyal due to the quality of a game not what's included. If ME 1 was released with Sheps dogtags at launch for an additional 15.00 dollars, would early gamers pay that not even knowing what the game was about? Let's jump to ME 2. When I preordered, I recieved the Cerberus network with Zaeed it was worth it. I understand the concept of getting more with the final chapter but to be honest, it has to be something practical for me. The night vision goggles from the MW PE was given to my nephew as I had no use to keep them in my attic. I ordered this about 4 months ago.(http://store.qmxonli...plica_p_75.html) So I understand collectable items. For a game though, if anything I'd rather have a Uber edition filled with unattainable content that expands the game itself other than an item that becomes an expensive paperweight.
But even that wouldn't be totally fair since all those who play should have access to it. Now being able to download EDI to a portable VI when I'm off the Normandy would be nice if it was exclusive. Like I said, personally if exclusive content was released with a Uber I'd support it 100% but if just comes down to trinkets that would be forgotten in a few months then no.
