I think it's the best next to the Japanese ME1 cover. Though that's not saying much. Box art ain't the ME series's strength, to say the least.

And what if you didn't know what was inside? What if you just wanted to buy/rent a game and were indeed judging a game by its cover like most people? Then ME2 would never even make it out of the store shelves

 They could just put 'N7' on ME3 and I would be happy.

Maybe it's just me but I find simple is better... a N7 logo speaks volumes, looks classy.. and is hard to find fault in. But then again, as I said earlier, I won't ever even see the box art anyway since I'll be getting digital edition again heh.

True. But really who is going to pick up a game that is clearly the 3rd in the series and go  "Ooooooo, I wanna play this one first!" Herp de derp. 

It should not be about bringing in new players this late. It should be about making fallowers of the ME franchise happy.

I dont know why, but just about every single great video game has either horrible art on the front, or a lame description on the back. I mean unless i already knew what ME2 was all about, the box art wouldn't of stood out to me in the slightest. I got to go back to games like FF7 for box art that i thought was interesting.

Box art needs to be simple. The collectors editions for ME are a perfect example. I regret being too cheap to drop an extra 10 bucks for the ME2 one. Although i hope for ME3 that the regular version won't be terrible like it was for part 2.

I think each of the CE covers worked very well for the game it wwas designed for. In ME2, the atmosphere was supposed to be dark and gritty, Shepard was broken and it is portrayed by the box art.
ME3 is about the galactic war and what Shep as an elite N7 soldier can do about it. Again, well portrayed by the cover. Kudos to BW for both of them.

I like the CE cover. It's designed exactly for who it was intended for. Us, the raving, obsessed fans (not that it's a bad thing, just saying ;D )

I actually like the cover with the omni blade. I don't think that one comes with the collector edition though

I think Shep with the omniblade will still be on the steel box inside (like Shep and the collector in the ME2 CE.
