They should have give the standard edition cover a movie-poster feel to it (ala ME1). Instead of the typical action game look it has now.

Thing is, a lot of people who'd be impressed by that kind of cover would've bought ME1 - it was only 4 years ago. Action-based covers sell games, and so Mass Effect has to have that kind of cover to bring in more fans. As Jarrett said on the previous page, the collector's edition covers are the ones for us, the loyal fans, and they're generally seen as the best covers.

Hopefully. My main problem with it is really that it's just Shepard, with an angry look on his face. It's a little too "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within" for my tastes.

the ME2 CE edition was the best so far, but the default ME3 cover is better than the CE (imo) and any previous cover - it is at least a decent, iconic image unlike the rather dated and old-stlye fantasy-look of ME1/ME2 defaults.

The ME3 is better I think.

Also, I would buy the collector's edition but currently Game is the only UK supplier listing it, and they have the price as double that of the standard edition. Its a nice cover and theres some interesting stuff in it, but not double the price worth.

Personally, I don't think that's a bad image. lol

But the cover of ME3 fits. It IS Shepard's story, after all.
