We haven't seen any yet(as far as I'm aware).

What do you want? What do you expect?

What do you think needs to change about Heavy Weapons?

Do some need to be nerfed? Do some need to be upgraded?

SPEAK, MY PEOPLE. SPEEEEEEAK.

If you look closely at one of the trailers, Shepard shoots an atlas mech with what looks like the grenade launcher.

i want the option to NOT HAVE ONE.

i hated them in ME2, i never used them, they were just this big annoying gun on my back that i couldnt get rid of. always equiped the flame thrower because it was the smallest.

let me have more ammo and hand grenades if i dont opt to take a heavy weapon...PLEASE.

I think we've seen the Grenade Launcher like The Fan said.

We've also seen the "Target Locator." I only call the air strike caller because it functions similiar to the Halo Reach weapon. It seems to only be used to in certain missions.

The DMR, I assume?

Well, I rarely used Heavy Weapons in ME2, so I wonder if they plan to make them more usable or more like the gun you use occasionally.

Even if they're made useful, I'll likely eschew their use entirely and not equip them (if Bioware allows this... goodness I hope they do).

I played ME2 with strictly aesthetic appeal in mind when it came to my armor / gear... I wore armor that I liked the look of, not what I felt had the best stats (besides, armor in ME2 was useless anyway... an extra 5-10% shields here or there made no difference on insanity difficulty anyway.. you were dead in 3-4 secs of sustained fire whether you had 300 shields or 350 shields).

I hated the clunky look of heavy weapons in ME2... I only ever equipped the geth heavy gun (lightning bolts .. forgot it's damn name heh) because it was the smallest and least intrusive looking on Shep's back.

I'd not have balked if they said heavy weapons were completely removed and just replaced with improved / useful grenades similar to ME1.

In the videos we've seen of ME3 so far, I like the really clean look of Shep in regards to his back... no bulky, ugly looking heavy weapon covering up 2/3 of his back... we can see the armor nice and clearly... and for me, the appearance of my character while they're fighting & in dialogue matters... even if it comes at the expense of combat effectiveness :)

I want a small and precise HW for my infiltrator.
I didn't really have anything appealing in ME2. most of them were to bulky and the only really precise one (collector beam weapon) had this organic design that looked odd on Shep. I actually ended up modding the HW out of ME2.
So for ME3, I'd like something small and handy like a laser pointer to paint targets for orbital strike by the Normandy (when feasible/outside). Maybe dead packs or mines that pack some punch and which can be used for ambushes. I could even think of a defensive weapon like e.g. ME field two emitters that you can deploy/throw and that create a barrier/cover in a spot where you need it. How about a mobile holo projector on a drone that creates a distractive hologram and helps you with flanking maneuvers?
That's all I can think of so far but the possibilities are endless. I hope they get a bit more creative.

I dunno, I liked the heavy weapons. Ergo, I didn't use them often... Except the cain. Used that at the end boss a couple of times, one shot win

Agreed! I can not exaggerate how dreaded they look with fuchsia armor.

The problem is likely that you're running around in fuchsia armor.

If heavy weapons will be in ME3 maybe they could give you ability to manufacure heavy weapons ammo instead of having to search for it on mission cause the resources scanning will be back though not quite as much as in ME2.I was thinking cause you will have resources such as iridium, platinum, element zero and palladium why not use those resources for things other than weapons upgrading and prototype manufacturing. Its possible given the technology all the species in Citadel Space have access to.

The Rocket Launcher looks cool when its just on your back. Logically, wouldnt you be able to shoot it when it was back there, since the rockets are heat-seeking? No need to even equip the launcher, just fire it.

I hardly ever used Heavy Weapons in ME2 I kind of just want them to be a optional thing.

I like the idea of making ammo. I began being so frugal with ammo that i never used it and found other ways to be effective.

Here's how i think it could work.In the Normandy sr-2 armory there could be a computer console connected to a heavy weapons ammo manufacturing/dispensing unit, when you use the console it takes you to a menu asking you how many units of heavy weapons ammo you would like to make if you have the required amount of resources you will be able to using that option. If you don't have the required amount that option will be greyed out and you will be unable to select that option.
Enjoy your day meatbags-HK-47.

Call me crazy but I'm fairly certain that we'll see the same weapons from ME2, plus a few others, maybe.

I used the Collector Particle beam and lightning gun (I forgot what it is called) constantly through the campaign. Until the Mattox (sp?) came out. then I used that. All of the time.

The flamethrower was for me a good heavy weapon for crowd control/dealing with enemies with armor cause fire burns through armor in ME2. And robertm2 about the gatling/chaingun heavy weapon I think would be possible given the high level of technology in Mass Effect. Maybe it could be laser/particle beam hybrid weapon with a hybrid heavy weapons ammo/heat sink system. Heavy weapons ammo to power the heavy weapon and the heat sinks to cool and it from overheating, the heat sinks could eject after each shot.Similar to the machine gun on the A-61 Mantis gunship.
