Widow is better than any heavy weapon. Headshots 1-shot everything but bosses and Vanguards, especially with 7/7 Sniper upgrades, +50% headshot damage upgrade and Warp ammo.

Another possible heavy weapon for ME3 could be a launcher that fires micro disruptor torpedos/missile.You could do alot and i mean alot of damage with a heavy weapon like that. But it would have to be balanced with a small ammo supply which I think is fair cause it would be WAY overpowered if it had a large ammo supply.

I liked them, my favorites were the arc projector and flamer with grenade launcher sometimes, but yeah they werent always useful cause you were forced to almost never use them, would be nice if you can manufacture at least limited aomunts of ammo yourself so you can use them more often

I think there could also be a option in the pause menu that gives you access to your omni-tool where you could manufacture small amounts of heavy weapons ammo on the go with the resources you have.It would give you the ability to top up on heavy weapons ammo or make some emergency ammo if you run out it.

I never used the heavy weapons in ME2, except to try them out. There weren't any situations where I found them needed or more useful than my basic toolkit, and I play on insanity. They were just extra weight on my back, and an eyesore. As miniscule of a gain as it was, I preferred to just never use them and get the 100 extra credits every time I picked up heavy ammo.

My opinion:
Most heavy weapons in ME2 were only just worth carrying, at least on the casual/normal/veteran difficulty settings (which are supposedly the way the game is "meant to be played"). If I'd had the option of leaving my heavy weapon on the Normandy in exchange for, say, +10% storm speed, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. In ME3 they need to pack a little more punch IMO.

Camon guys, everyone know's that in ME3 we should have the minigun, who can resist using that?
That would be a very universal weapon, as it would destroy any thing in seconds.

I didn't used them much until I got the Cain, after that heavy weapon usefulness can't be discussed (two shots on the final boss = dead).

That's exactly why I used it.

Bioware could put in the ability to manufacture demolition charges/packs into mass effect 3. It's possible because Lair of the Shadow Broker had military grade explosive packs/ordinance in the Dracon trade centre where you had to rescue Liara. Also it would be nice if you could upgrade the heavy weapons in ME3 upgrades like, damage per shot, accuracy, improved explosives and exotic warheads/explosives such as warheads with a small amount of radioactive material in them or micro disruptor torpedo warheads or even small cluster rocket warheads.

As far as heavy weapons go, Brennon has said that there will be less to choose from, but more varied in function. I'll see if I can find it. (Found it)

Its from quite some time ago, so things might have changed, but it should still be applicable.

There are in fact some new heavy weapons, though the total available pool has been slimmed down a bit... mostly because of some of the ways that they're distributed now. If you're curious about specifics... I'd suggest talking to Corey (he's relatively active on twitter).

He showed off a pretty amazing heavy weapon yesterday... it made things go away...

This here, there was never a situation where I couldn't get through with just my standard weapons and powers.

The only HW I used that I thought was effective enough was the Arc Projector because of its crowd control.

Yep, standard weapons worked just fine. It's not like some heavy weapons could be of use, some of them had a nice concept behind them, if you took the right HW for the right mission. But since you are rewarded with extra money when you don't use them, that's exactly what I did.

A good idea for a new heavy weapon in ME3 would be a shoulder fired railgun firing 25mm steel slugs coated in Tungsten. Plus the option to switch to exotic rounds such as steel slugs coated in polonium, high explosive/incendiary slugs,hyper-sonic slugs.depleted uranium slugs. And maybe create your own custom 25mm slugs.

Here's another possible option,Bioware could give you the ability to craft your own custom heavy weapon that only you can use in ME3.Here's how it would work in the Normandy sr-2 amory there would be a console connected to a heavy weapons manufacturing unit when you use the console it would give you the option to create your own custom heavy weapon or modify an existing one.If you selected create a custom heavy weapon it would take you to a menu asking you what you would like to create once you have made your choice it will ask you questions such as,how big?,how powerful?,how accurate, what type of warhead you would like?,how many shot before running out of ammo? and the like once you have made your choices it will ask you to confirm the creation of the heavy weapon.Once you confirm it will start making the weapon once the manufacturing unit is finished it will beep four times to say it is finished then you select the unit and retrieve your new custom heavy weapon.

Ok but what about drawback's of the weapon, the weight, how fast it would "open" it self and etc.
In ME there isn't such thing as weapon without drawback's.

i hated them in ME2, i never used them, they were just this big annoying gun on my back that i couldnt get rid of. always equiped the flame thrower because it was the smallest.

let me have more ammo and hand grenades if i dont opt to take a heavy weapon...PLEASE.

YESYESYES! Exactly my thoughts! :wizard:

I hope they at least let us get to keep the Collector Heavy Weapon. always had that because it took down enemies fast, and since I didn't use it that much I always had a lot of ammo to use for that if I ran out of ammo for my other weapons. I think they will include all the heavy weapons from ME2 because they were letting all the weapons that people got from DLC and such to be able to be used in ME3, so I would think Heavy Weapons would be included in that list of weapons. my though anyways

Btw it would be really cool and awesome if you got to burn that weasel Udina to death with the Firestorm flamethrower in Mass Effect 3.Just like Urdnot Torsk did to that unfortunate human in that Lair of the Shadow Broker video or even better throw him to the varren and watch him get ripped apart like that unfortunate salarian. Both of those videos were funny and a little bit sadistic.
