ME3s heavy weapons sucked. the only one that i ever used was the electro one whatever the hell its called. the devs need to watch DISTRICT 9 and make weapons that look atleast something like that. many people might be in love with TCs, but ME2s weapons feel nothing lke sci fi weaponry. forget nuke launchers and bolt action snipers, lets see imaginative alien firepower.

i saw a vid of the new pistol that shoots a sticky grenade, but thats easy an easy one. im not looking for bigger and more powerfull, im looking for 'awesome' and 'holy ****.'

ME2 heavy weapons were good. There was a nice variety to them offering a real difference to the main guns while the limited ammo balanced the increase in dps. The only real issue I had with them was they didn't upgrade in power. There was little point in using any of them at the end when the mattock had a higher damage output. Hopefully they will have a weight component, be upgradeable and be optional so that those who do not like them can ignore them and gain a bonus from doing so, while those that do like them can hopefully use slightly more powerful versions.

You know what? I would've used the Heavy Weapons more in my first playthrough if the ammo had been refilled once you returned to the Normandy, more ammo capacity (especially for the Cain), and more ammo drops.

I think what you said sort of outlines the point. Heravy weapons weren't supposed to be used often, but were rather unique weapons that could be used to potentially devastating effect in certain situations.

Yeah, but that resulted in people never using the damn things, since the in-game hints encouraged you to horde the ammo and the infrequent ammo dumps/limited ammo capacity made using the heavy weapons very unappealing compared to using powers and regular guns.

Some people like the idea of managing a strategic resource. I think it was a good point of difference to handle ammo differently. Automatically refilling it at the start of every mission could work well though.

Agreed.  I never used heavy weapons because then I'd never have ammo for it.  If I didn't have ammo for it then I wouldn't get credits instead of ammo whenever I found an ammo pack.  Having a limited supply per mission and letting that be the end of it would've worked out much better.  I mean, the Normandy can produce weapons and thermal clips out of nothing, but not the ammunition to a certain size of gun?  What?

The temptation is great indeed as it would hardly be any kind of spoiler, ... but then again I can tell a movie's next scene from little to nothing with 95% accuracy, sooo ...

*fights urge* *wins* *temptation lies dead*

No spoilers for me! Hah Image IPB

Most of them were kind of useless, the Cain and the Collector Beam weapon being the exceptions. The Cain did unspeakable amounts of damage, and the collector was an energy efficient weapon that was very flexible.

I wouldn't mind having the ability not to carry them, but I really want to have my collector beam weapon. Or something with a similar effect.

And upgrading them would be nice. Different modifications for each gun that can go different ways. Say, making the collector beam weapon have a wider beam that takes less juice or something like that.

**WARNING SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK**
Here's something of interest i read on the Mass Effect Wiki that one of the new weapons will be sort of assault rifle/heavy weapon hybrid that is called the Falcon Assault Rifle wich shoots 25mm "smart" grenades paired with a laser rangefinder and it uses both thermal clips and heavy weapons ammo and burns through the ammo it comes with a field ammo fabrication device that fabricates both thermal clips for cooling that weapon and heavy weapons ammo to power it.So it looks like a really cool weapon to use in Mass Effect 3 which will be released in roughly four months on the 6th of March for North America and the 9th of March for the United Kingdom,Australia and New Zealand.

Dude, look back at the 416 or so pages of old threads. They aren't locked because they're quiet, they just die and slip into older pages.

OT for revival: Someone With Mass posted a weapons/HW list from the script, and you can see the Avalanche in na.llnet.bioware.cdn.ea.com/u/f/eagames/bioware/masseffect3/resources/assets/media/screenshots/screenshot-015-p.jpg and the ML-77 in na.llnet.bioware.cdn.ea.com/u/f/eagames/bioware/masseffect3/resources/assets/media/screenshots/screenshot-045-p.jpg
