From what I understood in the dialogue at the end of Arrival, Shepard turns himself/herself in (or is capable of doing so). I'm pretty sure he/she didn't want to take the rest of the crew along for that particular ride.

Yep, this is how my Sheps feel.  I suppose this changes depending on how you RP your Shepard, but in my case even my most Renegade Shepard wouldn't want to risk her friends getting dragged into that mess.  In my Renegade's case, I imagine Garrus argued to come with her and she sent him away, both for his own protection and out of a sense of dumb pride.

Assuming this is an Alliance Military trial, would non-military personnel even be allowed to attend?

I was thinking the samething.

All I have to say is that Khalisah al-Jilani better be there.

Shepard: "I am not a terrorist! I am a hero!"
*Khalisah al-Jilani is called to the stand*
Khalisah al-Jilani: "He hit me...twice."
Shepard: I've had enough of your malicious allegations!"

It's possible said moral support got separated but yeah I'd really like to see my LI at the very least at my trial if it is a public trial. If it's not public or it's not exactly a trial but a military tribunal shep is speaking to I could see why no one he knows from his crew would be there though I would like to at least get one face to face meeting with them if it turns out its a tribunal or private court so I could at least feel like they're supporting me and I could vent any concerns I have on the issue.

Same idea here... why would they let any alien in at an Alliance trial? or some Cerberus personal?
This isnt public justice, its a military trial where you have to explain how you did or did not betrayed the Alliance and probably bargin a few secrets to get your rank back.

Alliance Prosecutor: *Commander Shepard, did you order the attack?*
Judge: You *don't* have to answer that question!
Commander Shepard: I'll answer the question!
Commander Shepard: You want answers?
Alliance Prosecutor: I think I'm entitled.
Commander Shepard: *You want answers?*
Alliance Prosecutor: *I want the truth!*
Commander Shepard: *You can't handle the truth!*
Alliance Prosecutor: Did you order the attack?
Commander Shepard: I did the job I...
Alliance Prosecutor: *Did you order the attack!?*
Commander Shepard: *You're Goddamn right I did!*

Shep: So, I'm heading to Earth for my trial. I'm going to drop you all off before hand.

Tali: But I want to help. You defended me at my hearing-

Shep: That's not really how things work.

Legion: Shepard-Commander. We have downloaded several vids on Earth law. We could help as counsol. Accessing "My Cousin Vinnie"

Shep: No, Legion.... That's... that's alright.

Grunt: If it's anything like Tuchakka's legal system, I would be thrilled to stand with you during the trial.

Shep: Thanks, Grunt. But that's really not ne-

Grunt: We'd kill all they sent until they found you innocent.

Shep: Ok, now it's really not necessary

No Grunt.Posted Image

I imagined Grunt would burst through the courtroom doors, toss Shepard a Shotgun or Rifle and say "Time to fight Shepard."

Jacob and Miranda being Cerberus probably won't be there.
Legion well... that wouldn't go well either for obvious reasons.
Grunt should be there unless he went back to Tuchanka for a while.
Samara probably went to do Justicar stuff.
Mordin would either be on the ship or back to scientific Salaran stuff.
Tali and Garrus should be there no doubt. you helped her at her trial and Garrus and you are good friends.
Zaeed off doing merc stuff, not that you'd want him there.
Jack could still be a wanted criminal not the greatest idea. same with Kasumi being a thief.
Liara should be there unless she's off in Shadow Broker stuff.

still some of them should at least be in the Normandy near by but then again it's said Alliance took the Normandy and it got rebuilt AGAIN. so I guess you might have to go pick up Garrus/Tali again.
