And no I disagree OP. I'm going to be blunt, that would just be stupid. Ashley has this new look due to fanservice, not some insecurites and dressing "skanky" to get her man like in Grease. <_<

I don't think it's a mid life crisis she's only 28 years old too young for a mid life crisis plus Miranda is older the she is. She just feels she isn't sexy enough with that heavy armor, it makes her seem too maluscline, she just wants to get Shepard's attention I bet by looking more like Miranda which I as Shepard like. Not saying she wasn't sexy before but after this I just want to take her into the cargo bay of the Normandy and make mad love to her like there's no tomorrow. I don't even care if Legion watches her and I doing it. I don't even care if he asks questions of why humans and any organics have sex.

Actually to be more precise. Ashley taking her hair down is a representation of the term.

Also as a Spectre she must be at a certain level of attractiveness. Letting her hair down increased her hotness ten fold. Making her Spectre material. It also removes the need for a renegade interrupt because the second she moves the small amount of hair covering her eye it will bend reality to the point that a Reaper will fall before her.

Also it leaves room for a lesbian make out scene with Miranda. The only reason why you could not bed Miranda as a Female shepard was because your hair wasn't long enough.

I think Ashley's new look is a result of Bioware's producers revamping the character because they realize, "Hey, lots of our fans don't give a crap about character consistency, they only care about which ones they can ****, and which ones have crazy-ass backstories!"

More likely they decided how they were going to develop her character and decided she would become a bit more open minded and loosen up a bit. Then they made the silly decision of changing her look and letting her hair down to reflect that. Bring back the bun!!! Nothing wrong with hair down but nothing wrong with hair up either and it was part of her distinctive look and keeps her different from Miranda.

It's because she's a Spectre now instead of a grunt soldier. Speed, agility, stealth, and the ability to blend in with a crowd are probably more important for a Spectre than 50 pounds of battle armor that couldn't even save Jenkins.

Huh Shepard must be a horrible spectre. Seeing as he/she wears 50 pounds of battle armor daily.

Shepard is well known. Only way not to stand out would be to use another ship and change his face/hair completely. That's how they all identified Shepard. Via the Normandy.
