I better be able to... There's no way my Shep is going to let Ashley have better hair then her.

lmao

As for me I dunno. There's a sense of identity in the hair as far as my sheps go both male and female.
I'd really have to see if I can see a new style that looks like an advance version of the one I have them in now.

I think the reason why they will only allow facial hair customization and perhaps not allow a reconfiguration of the face is because your import is not new to the continuation of the story unless your new to the mass effect trilogy as a first time player to mass effect 3 then they might let you create your character

In mass effect 1 you had the option to make your Shepard

in mas effect 2 your Shepard dies at the beginning of the story and therefore you can once again customize

but in mass effect 3 your Shepard is alive and well and therefore it would be kind of weird from a Bioware perspective to allow character customization for imports

but i still think they should implement it to give us a choice to customize if we want to

I'm hoping they employ some kind of slider system oposed to the dodgy presets,
because let's face it, most of the presets were just plain wierd, fine if you wanted to
create a mutant, also, most of the sliders seemed to have a default normal characteristic
to the far left instead in the middle, an example eye height, far left was normal, centre,
getting a bit odd, far right, eyes on forehead, hope they've sorted that out.

Would be nice to get rid of the concrete pony-tail also. :)

me1 system was the best - reconstruct profile or whatever excuse, and before the game starts.
That unskippable intro where you can't see whether your shep is fugly or not till after really really sucked.

I agree.  Maybe they could use the excuse that when he was dead, something happened to his file, or... something like that, and you could proceed like ME 1.

I hope that they'll give us good lighting, and I hope I can zoom in closer when trying to change the eye color.  In ME 1, you had to give your shep a somewhat deep tan on the character creation screen, or else they'd look white as bleach in the actual game.

ME 2 was better about the tan thing, but I've always had to get up close to the TV to choose an eye color.  It'd be nice if the only options were a couple of shades of blue, couple of shades of green, couple of shades of brown and one off-the-wall color, like red.

Another option I think would be ideal if they're sticking with the preset head selecter
would be maybe having 10 or so default base heads and maybe 2 or 3 user slots
that you could save when you're happy with them, these user presets for male or
femsheps could be selected each time your create a new class or what not.

Well, since it will start out at Shep's trial, they can justify it as scanning him/her through the system and you can change things ME2 like before it cuts to him/her standing in front of a military court or something.

I'd be surprised if they didn't, you could change appearance AND class in ME2. At the very least you should be able to change your hair, since that's not unrealistic.

"Shepard return on Earth to be judged on the trial. Military Police officer recognize him/her. "

*Morality choice - Be rude or be cooperative with the military cops*

"Either choice the cop, nervous by the fact he's arresting an elite soldier, shoot by nervosity."

*Reconstructive surgery*

Problem solved :P

ME3 needs a "Black Emporium" with a Mirror of Transformation. Totally optional, you can tweak all you want, and you can leave everything alone if that's your deal. Everybody's happy—unless the knowledge that someone else can completely change their imported Shepard's face somehow ruins YOUR game...

That would be awesome, that was the best part of DA2.

Here's how I'm going to imagine Shepard's face being revealed.

The scene starts in a futuristic, but not so totally futuristic courtroom. It's bright and sunny. You notice that the walls are white and that there's people rallying outside and inside the coutroom. Humans, Salarians, Turians, and people from all over the galaxy come to witness Commander Shepards trial. The scene changes to a person walking. You only see that person's feet and shoes walking through what it seems to be a corridor. That person turns a corner and through the end of the corridor is the courtroom. You can hear the crowd shouting, screaming, and chanting as the person marches closer to the room. A couple human guards are blocking the doorway. They let this person through as you see the person's body shape, but not the person's head. The person walks down to the middle of the courtroom where that person who is the defendant must take stand. Anderson is seen in the crowds and looks at the defendant with a stern, yet proud face, knowing that the defendant will take a stand to his or her ideals. The camera scrolls up as the defendant is standing there. The camera goes all the way up until his or her face appears. It's Commander Shepard

That's how I think Shepard will be revealed in Mass Effect 3.

I imagine there will be some dialogue interchange between the Judge, Shepard, and whoever else is doing the talking until the Reapers attack. :P

I assume that you have to reassemble your profile prior to the beginning of the trial in a way simmilar to me1.
Like: "Judge: [some dude we don't know yet]
Accused: Commander She[profile corrupted, please manually reconstruct.]

Is it possible to make a female Shepard now that is not butt-ugly without mods?

They shouldn't try to come up with any excuse at all. Just take the player to the character customization screen, let them tweak to their heart's content and only then begin the game. And treat it as if Shepard had always looked like that. Not every single aspect of a video game has to have an in-game explanation.

Moar confirmation.

"ME1 and ME2 systems were too different. Now you can change your facial features from your own ME2 customised Shep."

This. The ability to change my Hawke'a appearence over the years was the only thing that let me finish DA2.

Eh? I was never able to tweak my ME1 Sheps when I imported them into ME2. I could only accept them as they were. When I tried to customise them, they were reset.

So I wasn't able to change my FemShep's hair. :'(

This has always been possible. You're clearly just not trying hard enough. :P

I wouldn't call my unmodded (360) FemShep "butt-ugly", even if she isn't as good as the best modSheps:

I tried to change a few details my of 2nd and 3rd Sheppards' (Virgine & Sam) appearance in ME2 I couldn't, because everytime I tried to do so the face changed completly...... I was quite annoyed by this... I hope that in ME3 I can't change this details (hairstyle and scars mainly)

I don't think this requires any explanation at all. Just start the game with the customization screen.
