I have an issue using my 40" LCD Samsung 650 Series. I can't go past 1600x900 or 1600x1024 despite my desktop resolution being 1920x1080. this is regardless if I have the video setttings at 16:9 or 16:10. what could this be?? I have the latest drivers. im using a 3.4ghz amd Phenom II X4 965 , 8GB of GSKILL PC12800 DDR3 ram, and a 285GTX 1GB by EVGA. I am using 191.07 nvidia drivers. So far the game is really good, but I would like to put my system to real use :) with seeing it at 1920x1080. When I play Crysis works at this resolution so I figure its an ingame issue. any possible resolutions?

does anyone have a similar set up in which they use a LCD TV for a monitor?? Im eventually going to be getting a nice 24" LCD standard widescreen monitor with 1920x1080 resolution (some good deals on newegg.com) but in the meantime Id like to play the game at full tilt at the max resolution my TV is capable of. so if anyone has any idees on how to get this to work I'd appreciate it. not sure why crysis will go full 1920x1080, but dragon's age wont. I would appreciate any tricks, or possible solution that someo0ne might have. or perhaps I have to wait for a patch??? Im not overly stressed about it, as the game runs maxxed at 8x AA at around 1600x900, Im just curious if to knoww if its a in game limitation with LCD TV's or perhaps a in game code issue when comes to graphical settings. thanx for any info you can help, despite this I have almost no issues minus a few crashes here and there otherwise, the game runs at 60 FPS almost with no dip in framerates the game is otherwise awesome. oh well, everyone enjoy ya day, thanx.

This is an EASY fix. Manually set your rez:

1) Go to you documents folder\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\Settings
2) Open the file: DragonAge.ini
3) Manually set these lines:

(the below are my settings)
ResolutionWidth=2560
ResolutionHeight=1600

By manually setting those, you can FORCE the game into any resolution you chose :) You can also find other tweaks in there too... like forcing the game to use anisotropic filtering if you set the one setting from 0 to 16 which makes the game look a LOT better :)

Also most 40" monitors should be able to to do 2560x1600 (unless it's more of a HDTV vs a true computer monitor like yours).. then yes you'll have to edit the above lines to read:

ResolutionWidth=1920
ResolutionHeight=1080

************************
Other things to modify:

DisableIntroMovies=1 (change that from 0 to 1). This shuts off ALL intro movies and the game will load MUCH faster

AnisotropicFilteringLevel=16 (as stated above)

anothe thing i noticed is i get a message on my tv when I minimize my game my tv resolution switches back to 1920x1080 resolution, then back to 1440x900 when i switch to 1600x900 resolution when its maximized. any thoughts?

could this be a driver or game issue? also noticed call of duty modern warfare 2 sets at no more than 1600x900. so im thinking possibly a driver issue. once agian, your thoughts :P

k i think with a help of a TallbearNC and my own googling prowess lol, its confirmed that DVI-VGA output does not do HD resolutions at 1080p. so Im gonna test it today this morning with a run to Best buy to get a DVI-HDMI Dongle since I already hve a HDMI cable. so ill confirm today what the deal is. thanx to TallbearNC u are awesome thanx so much for your assistance.

oh on a brighter side though ( havent tested it) my NF890-G65 OC MSI motherboard has a NF200 chipset with a built in HDMI port for blue ray :) so Im thinking of possibly putting blue ray on it, but I doubt it as I may very well get a smaller but still impressive 27" monitor for my gaming and development work.

well worked like a charm, the DVI to HDMI cable worked. now ig ot 1980x1080 resolution. so definite that VGA doesnt support past 1600x1200.
