Mass Effect is probably my favourite series of all time but I never really quite got why should I pay additional 20 dollars for a few side things that will have little to no impact on the game itself

For those of you who did Buy it, why did you do so?

Don't you want to be one of the elite of the elite of fanboys? Seriously doesn't it come with one of those mech dogs or something? Must have...

The unpacking, removing the discs from the steel case, going through the hopefully not so spoilerish artbook while installing, holding the box in your hands after completion while the most awesome moments of the game flashes before your eyes.

The feeling man.

Just because Standard Edition isn't Collectors Edition. And I like extra stuff.

Last game in the series. It's a celebration of the journey. I never buy CE's usually. And I will never pay over $80 for one.

They pretty much priced it perfectly to get my money, personally.

You can easily get that feeling from watching porn while it's installing.

/Just saying...

That does not make me feel good about my hobby.

Maybe I should change hobbies, hmmm...

Well, Mass Effect is undoubtedly my favorite game franchise ever. I've played through the 1st and 2nd games well over a dozen times. Anyway, i personally really do appreciate those little things that are small in the larger scope of things but hey, it's going towards BW(which i love) so it's really not a problem. So really, why the hell not? That's could just be me though.

Mass Effect is my favourite videogame series of all time. It deserves all the money I can give it. I also want to remember the awesomeness in the years to come and so the beautiful CE package is the way to go.

I rarely buy CE versions, but I love Mass Effect series, so I went for it.

I used to do it purely for the sheer nerdiness of it.  I admit it.  I'm actually kinda proud that I still have a BG2 collector's edition box and such.  (Yes, I'm that much of a loser.)  Now, I usually get it for DLC content.  However, I hardly ever buy CE anymore.

*facepalm* I just...I just can't believe they thought a robot dog was a good idea. I mean, was it 'get high friday' that they came up with the idea?

It is a good idea. Think of the fun you can have modding romance scenes to have robo-dog and Legion.

I usually reserve buying such for a select few games that I love, and even then, still depending on the price (still a student. Can't afford a lot).

I haven't made up my made about ME3 yet, but normally when I buy such a thing...It comes from love of the series. I reserve buying a limited/collectors edition for the kind of games that you wait eagerly in anticipation for, the ones you feel all hyped up about and you get a rush of excitement when it finally arrives. Not wanting to be left out of those extras, nerdiness and pride are also contributing factors.

It's fluff, but it's fun fluff. And an extra $15 doesn't seem like that much extra when you already have $50-60 of disposable income to waste in the first place.

I like the idea. I don't like the idea of paying for it, mind you, but that's not what I'm paying for *nod*

I just like animals. Robotic or no. Even if it's that ugly mech dog.

Urz all they way.

I was planning on getting the CE for ME3, but it doesn't have enough bang for the buck. If they had all of that plus something that was truly collectible like a Normandy model (Like those seen before that were being sold, so pretty) I would be all over it. At this point though, its a regular extra stuff edition box, not collectible.

I buy CEs usually if they come with behind-the-scenes/making-of videos.

The only reason I would ever buy the collectors addition of a game is for the art book and making of.

I'm debating myself wether to get it.

DLC stuff doesn't do much for me. Its all meh.

I prefer my physical tangible items - I played COD Black Ops and finsihed it in one setting, but still forked out a couple hundred to play with the buggy (longer than the game to be honest).

If I do end up going for the CE, which I probably will, it will be for the soundtrack and the artbook.

Mass Effect 3 is the finale to the God-blessed trilogy. Might as well get the best edition you can get. I know I am and will not regret it. Every ending to a series should be made into tangible memory by getting the best package of it.
