The argument for the aesthetics of an iconic look and artistic integrity and all that can be made, BUT in the context established by the games armor IS useful. It's useful at deflecting/absorbing bullets/projectiles and biotic/tech powers. Remember that orange bar that enemies had? Armor.
So a character running around in a cat suit or with just belts covering her nipples and heading into a full-on war is stupid in the context of the games. It makes no sense and is IMO childish fan service for the teen boy demographic.

Who really shouldn't be buying the game anyway, since it's M for "mature"...oh right, ha, i forgot, that actually doesn't mean anything.

There's no reason we can't be unique and practical, or at least have more than one outfit.

Bioware can do it. You can create protective-looking armor without making your characters look dull or look like space marines. Though I wouldn't object to a space marine.

I'd love unique armour for all squadmates, that is also practical. Is that too much to ask? Halo Reach did a good job of it, each of your team was distinct and well protected, and their aesthetics were alot more restictive than ME armours. I'm not bury them all in armour, but at least put them in something that looks like it could stop a stray bullet, or a toxic environment.

Definately bring back the helmet toggle too..

If I remember correctly, Ashley was wearing some more appropriate armor than the catsuit Miranda sported in ME2. While it was obviously accentuating some of her... features, it at least looked like fully functional armor in the style of some of the female armor from ME1.

Yes, that looks like some mighty protection...

as opposed to this...

Although I never liked the colors for the Phoenix armor (pink?).

Lol, yeah I know what you mean. Another thing that bugged me was the two different helmets that Garrus had in ME1. One was incredibly cool and the other was the ugliest helmet I have ever seen.

This was one of those "what the heck were they thinking?" moment.

This one just reminds me that Garrus looks way too much like a cat in ME1 XP! That melonhelmet cat picture would be very fitting for Garrus at this point...

I approve. No cat-suits, high heels, and whatever the thing Jack wears is called.

You know the worst part? The ugly helmet came with the best armors, the Colossus & Predator, lol. Except for Garrus's special armor, don't remember the name, which was almost impossible to get. I felt that Bioware wanted to get back at us for some reason or another.

Why wear armor when there are kinetic barriers.

Plus ashley is now a specter, not a full blown alliance marine, so she can wear whatever she pleases! Considering the relativley few of you who disapprove...

This again? Kinetic Barriers + Armor protection is better than just Kinetic Barriers, it's common sense. Don't you remember fighting Asari's that had both in ME2?

As for Ashley, even though she's a Specter, she's the military type, it's in her blood, there's no way she would be suddenly so dumb as to go into combat without armor this would be totally out of character. Being a Specter also doesn't mean her skin has suddenly become resistant to bullets.

And BTW there are more of us who doesn't want squadmates in casual wear when going into battle than you think. Why do you think Bioware made the armored Miranda & Tali DLC? Heck I've read alot of threads about this in the ME2 board.

I personally like ME2s system way better.

I think it makes the characters look more characterized. And frankly I don't really care about reality needs armor (plus I mean... we're in the future... 2 lines of crap can explain why Jack can fight naked)

Yes and high heels in a battlefield is just SO AWESOME, DUDE!

You can have personal armors for each characters without losing the characterization. And like I said before the prefered way would be to make both a casual outfit and armor for each squadmate (except those that only wears armor) and let people choose their preference. Otherwise why is Shepard, Garrus, and Wrex wearing armor, what's the point of all that extra weight if other's don't need it, heck let them just run around in jeans & a t-shirt.

Hello,

I'm not too sure why you are mocking me. I voiced my opinion. I didn't insult you or insinuate you were wrong for thinking what you do. To restate... I'm not overly concerned with reality here. High heels? that is somewhat over the top... in no way game breaking. But a biotic fighting nude, whilst presumably covering herself in a biotic shield because blah blah blah.

Still I don't really care if it makes sense I just like the characters looking cool. As opposed to big hefty armor on everyone. Its my opinion, I'm entitled to it... Don't insinuate I'm an idiot... I am not, I just have different priorities then you.

EDIT: You added more.

I'm 100% for the idea of having multiple outfits and if 1 or more for each character is full body armor.. awesome that makes people happy.. without taking anything away from the aesthetic people... its just all good.
