I would not be surprised if all exclusive ME2 squad-mates get the same treatment as was shown in the ME3 demo's...

One way or another they help you out during key missions:
Legion driving that Geth vehicle to get you away from the walking Reaper.
Interactions with Mordin, Wrex (and maybe Grunt) during the Sur-Kesh mission.

I imagine that all of the ME2 exclusive squad mate sbesides Jack and Miranda are cameos in the way you describe.

Maybe...we don't know the whole story yet.  PR is content to keep that info under wraps for now.

I dunno. I'm holding out for 'love interests are a permanent squaddie'. I didn't romance Jacob, but I appreciated his role as the friendly, normal dude on the ship who looked out for everyone, and I imagine the Jacob romancers want their man back.

This is something I've been thinking about for awhile now...it could possibly happen...
The dialogue would center mostly on continuing the romance.

Although it might seem unfair to those who did not have that person as LI but would want them to be a squadmate...

I disliked Miranda more than I disliked Jacob. When Miranda gave Jack the little spin about being second in command, I wanted to pull out my shotgun and blow her head off. Impersonating an officer during a time of war is an offence punishable by death.

I my self thinked Jacob was like un-notice person, who did not really matter much or make "big" impression. Even if I liked his loyalty mission in ME2. I do have to say, I don't miss him if he isn't there. Also they have sayed that there is less companions than ME2 had, so I ques it means between 6 (ME1) -12 (ME2)?

Kaidan/Ashley, Garrus, Tali, Liara, and Vega that's just 5 so far?

As for cheating on liara.......HOW COULD THEY!

Personaly I liked jacob but we had to many choices for squadies in me2 and his skill set was always available from someone with a stronger personality so I rarely used him

If this is true it makes me sad. I didn't particularly like Jacob, but he was still part of the team.

Certainly he can't just disapear, there has to be some explaination in ME3 for what happened to him.

He'll be back and on the team. I personally didn't connect with Jacob, unfortunately (lame loyalty mission) but many did and I cannot imagine Bioware screwing over so many fans.

I highly doubt he will be missing as bioware people have said several times at e3 if they were an important person they will be back in me3. 

As people said above I think he will just be someone we help rather than he rejoin us on the team. Having said that who says Morden wont join us after helping him?

jacob isnt going to be permanent. no chance in hell is he going to be permanent
