After seeing what happened in ME2 with the casualisation of the franchise, are you not worried that the RPG elements will be further omitted? I, for one, am rather apprehensive about the game. Sure, I have every faith that the story will be excellent but it is not the only reason I have chosen to play the Mass Effect games over the past few years. Sure, Casey said in the demo that they have upped the RPG elements but all that I heard of was the "ability to select what powers you want" - That will not be enough imo. Are you not worried?!
Are you not worried?

No, not really, no.
I like ME better as a shooter with RPG elements than an RPG with shooter elements.

Not worried at all, if the devs have said that ME3 will have more RPG elements than ME2... I really dont doubt them on that.
and I dont really think the game got more "Casual". It was a hybrid TPS/RPG in 1 (in which case the TPS portion was less than stellar) and they definately fixed the TPS quotient in ME2.
Now if they up the RPG elements (and by RPG elements i DONT meant "Ooh mostly useless inventory and gun pallette swaps) then I'm game. Big time.
But I'm not worried in the slightest. If anything i'm worried as to what I'm gonna do to wait until march...

I sure am terrified. The direction is a corridor shooter with selectable waifu/husbando.
The problem isn't about cutting the RPG elements persay, the problem is the zealous need to appeal to people who want their games be hand-holding semi-interactive films.
The rail-shooting in E3 demo strenghtened my fears pretty well. Seriously, this is 2011. Who wants rail-shooting? They didn't work in arcades, they didn't work in Gears of War, they haven't worked anywhere.

I like shooters and I like rpgs. What I wanted from ME2 was a ME1 with improved shooter elements.
Bioware indeed improved the shooter elements a bit (though the heatsink-system feels strange somehow) but in turn reduced the rpg elements and overall depht by nearly 80%.
So what I got was an almost-but-not-quite Gears of War with dialogues, a starmap and tiny rpg elements.
There lies a lot of money in those changes due to the large pontential fanbase, thus it is likely Bioware will continue following this way.
Sooo...no I'm not worried, instead I've reached a state of despair and disappointment. No reason to worry, since the damage is already done.

Yeah, I am really. I watched the E3 coverage, and about 1% consisted of something that could be considered "not shooter game related".
I know, more stuff is coming in the future, and "they are focusing on improving all aspects/just because they improve the shooter aspect, it doesnt mean the RPG will suffer", but I remember reading the same lies when ME2 was in development.
Lots of folks were suspiscious about the level of attention the shooter side of the game receieved, and they were right.
Until they are prepared to show visible proof of their improvements that will make it into the game, I think they and all the fans blindly defending them should shup up and accept the discontent for the time being.
I mean, what did they expect when the biggest information release on ME3 so far is almost indistinguishable from that of Gears of War?
