Seriously, only two days into E3, and already we are firing off about how much we want to change and what you got wrong or right... Jesus, it must suck to be you! I'm sure you can simply laugh off most of these threads wanting change, but really, it must suck to be attacked by a base of ravenous fans hungry for more Mass Effect. I guess what the point of this thread really is must be to just give you guys a whopping thanks for putting up with us and even interacting with us here on the forums, you guys really take feedback to heart and we sure as hell thank you for it.
Whenever someone criticizes something that is really in secret-stages, this is how I imagine you guys to look:

And I believe you do have some great calibrations in store for us in Mass Effect 3, hell, that's what Garrus has been working on since Mass Effect 2 right?

Eh, some things they deserve after the fact, but the amount of pre-release BS they have endured throughout their most recent dev cycles is ridiculous.

I'm actually pretty danged happy with what I've seen so far. My only concerns are about things that Bioware have been silent on, and I'm sure that they'll release details on them soon. They're doing a fine job.

Meh. Most complaints are coming from a small group who think brewing drugs, eating, sleeping, fiddling with arbitrary numbers, rummaging through an endless supply bag and playing barbie-doll dress up means it'll be a deep RPG. How many normal people look back on a game and think 'wow, that was such an awesome experience as I purchased a dagger that did an extra 2 damage?' Hence all the negative stereotypes around RPG fanatics. 'This is such a complex choice. Should I put 1 point into raising this useless stat by 2% or this equally pointless ability instead?' <_

Oh yeah, I love everything I've seen. It looks like Bioware is going to hit this one out of the park (for me), and there's nothing the naysayers and RPG-elite on this board can do to change that.

But these boards have always had an undercurrent of overreactionism. Everything is a crisis, and you must repeatedly cry out and post your opinion, over and over again, for 'Bioware to notice and make changes based on our feedback, or it will SUCK!'

Agreed. I'm very impressed with everything I see and am getting sick of reading disingenuous assertions and snide insinuations that aren't at all justified based on what we've seen.

Yes, really thank you for just doing your job and trying to make money off us. Sarcasm off. Can't stand people who lick asses of corporate people who are just trying to make as much profit as possible. And it's a good thing that you like a game, but sympathizing with the slack they get? Come on dude, get a life, for the cash these developpers make I would gladly take that kind of slack.
Unfortunately, I do get the slack but not the money (public service)

Everything has looked great so far, I'm eager for more details on actual game mechanics but I'm sure those are coming.

Bioware's Mass Effect didn't disappoint me in any point of view so far.

Only the fast that ME3 is the last is what makes me very sad.

I'm pretty sure everything about it will be simply awesome.

We're just worried. Look at Dragon Age 2. It was trollolol fail. Naturally, fans would be wary of incoming Bioware games.

Oh, I agree that Bioware takes the heat with a lot of tact and professionalism, and I commend their constant community interaction and communication, which while derided on the forums here, is easily some of the most responsive community interaction I've seen in the game industry.

It's just a shame that so much of the community feels it's their duty as fans to be rude to them.

One other thing. Your average, front-line game developer makes anywhere between 30% to 50% less than an equivalent position making business or commercial software. Leads do pretty well, and the execs at EA wear money hats and swim in pools of money scooge mcDuck style, but the average Bioware employee is probably not as bling-bling as you'd like to think.

Not that they're not going to keep taking it from you and people like you; that's how they roll. I just like dispelling misconceptions.

But the average BW employee will probably still do much better than the average joe. By a very large margine. Maybe they won't be milionairs but I still recon the do far more than 100K a year.

the reason alot of people have alot of visions of what ME is is because it started as a RPG and ended as a shooter. the inconsistency of the game is the biggest reason why you see complaints. its easy to complain about vehicles with the mako, vs the hammerhead. its easy to complain about exploration with driving the mako vs planet scanning. if ME3 ended in the same vein that ME1 started, you wouldnt have so many people with different perspectives on what ME3 should or shouldnt be.

if bioware didnt invest so much knowledge and depth into their games, they wouldnt have alot of problems as well. ME1 is filled to the top with intellect, everything about ME1 simply makes sense in a sci fi universe. ME2 on the other hand was made without brains. lots of plot holes, lore retcons and what not.

I haven't seen anything I didn't like. My concerns are about the end of the story arc, but that obviously won't come out until the game does. Everything I've seen so far looks great.

No. You really have no concept of game development business realities, do you?

don't forget, that they work insane amount of hours to meet "productivity" which probably is against labor laws in the US.  On top of that, game developers don't have the most stabiliest jobs, one botched games and it could mean their job.

I honestly do not get why people get angry about a video game.  if it really isn't that great move on to other video games.

I do not envy their workload
I do not envy their "due dates"
I do not envy the flak from their fans
I do not envy their job security

The only person I am jealous of in bioware is Chris Priestly...that guy is god.

As I am not casual gamer, I expected...more from ME series.

I saw ME1 and great concept art, and I saw potential.

Now that I know ME is removing inven. oversimplifying removing details from maps, storyline, plot, .... It just didn't live up to what I expected bioware is capable of....

I thought they could make it far better but they just messed it up in some sense...getting simple as hell and easy as hell......

I just expected more....they seems to deliberately mess it up....

And about job status related to game sales, I too feel sorry for what's happening in gaming industry....
it looks not good.....:D

What's funny is bioware do seem to have potential to realize what's pretty difficult for other devs.
They are putting their resources in the wrong way, if they keep failing.

And all the other trollings that cut back sales, if it's utterly pointless and senseless, it wouldn't be as successful,
I mean there are some truth in what they are trolling about....

and not small part of it is fault of no other...than dev themselves.....

Out of everything I have seen so far, the only thing I don't like is the new look for Ashely. We already have Miranda for sex appeal.

That however will not stop me from buying this game and enjoying every minute of it.
