www.game.co.uk/Games/PC-Games-and-Downloads/Action-Adventure/Mass-Effect-3/~r353532/

Price for standard ME3 edition (PC): £34.99

www.game.co.uk/Games/PC-Games-and-Downloads/Role-Playing/Mass-Effect-3-Collectors-Edition/~r355276/

Price for Collector's edition ME3 (PC): £69.99

Seriously? Double the price for a few extra goodies? Is this the case in the UK only, or is it the same for Mass Effect players elsewhere?

Hey, at least it's not Australian prices.

But seriously, I'm not too fussed about the price, but maybe 5 less would be nice.

Well for almost every new release Australia gets the highest prices, something like a hundred dollars.

I ordered the PC version of the Collectors Edition yesterday when it was only £59 from GAME.co.uk. I got a confirmation email saying that although the price has gone up, I only have to pay what I ordered it for. Yay!

So, the US edition costs $80 dollars on Amazon which equates to ~£50, which is £20 less than Game.co.uk. Meanwhile on Amazon.de it was 90 euros for the console edition which equates to ~£80 which is £10 more. PC edition is 75 euros which is ~£67 (£3 less).

Wonder when this would hit the forums.  I got an email through today from Game telling me about the price increase and telling me.  I ordered the Collectors Edition yesterday so I will pay the old price and not the new price.

It now seems the PC version of the Collectors Edition is the same price as the Console version. Hm nice one EA, I guess EA will pocket the extra £10 that usually goes to console manufacturers with the PC version.  I am not going to kick up a fuss about it, this is probably my last EA game anyway.

they raised the price to level it with the consoles counterparts, while it should be lower by atleast 10£

It's Game.co.uk that raised the price, not EA, from EA the PC version of the Collector's Edition costs less than the Xbox and PS3 ones!

It'll come down in time i imagine. I ordered Duke Nukem a while ago and got two emails about two different price drops.

The version on the EA Store is NOT the Collectors Edition, it is the Digital Deluxe Edition and it costs £55.  It is a lower price because the DDE version does not come with all the items the Collectors Edition comes with (such as the Metal Case and Fabric Badge).

The price increase is totally down to EA, PC games have always been £10 cheaper due to the fact that there is no console royalty fee.  This started changing first with Activision that started demaning console prices for PC games and EA have copied them.  It is EA that has raised the price of the Collectors Edition to bring it in line with the console version.

Hmm - that's a bit steep, considering that it's £20 cheaper from Amazon.com.

Granted, buying it from the US adds shipping and handling, but it's still only £67 overall, compared to £69.99 - not a massive practical difference, but it's says something when your price is so high that buying from overseas with all the extra charges still works out as cheaper...

Shame, that - Game used to be really good for having the best deals.

Hopefully it will, if it doesn't then I'll simply buy the standard edition.

I have no idea. Standard edition ME3 on PC is significantly cheaper in most stores, and the CE should be too.

Apparently it has, although people who ordered it yesterday's version still costs £59.99, however any preorders from today onwards will cost £69.99.
