First off, I'm aware that the nature of Sci-Fi is that it's 10% science and 90% fiction. That said, I was looking at some of the demo footage from E3 and I started wondering "how would it be possible to kill stuff with a hologram?" I'm not saying it's impossible; maybe the omniblade has a laser edge that makes it lethal or something. I came up with that as a sort-of-scientific explanation for how the omniblade could be an actual weapon, but I was wondering if people had any other explanations they wanted to discuss.
Also, I'm going to give you guys fair warning that posts that go the way of "OMG writing sux bioware r n00bz they ignorz teh lore and maek melee wepnz to dumb down teh gameplay for teh COD gamrz" will be ignored. I've heard it a hundred times already, and I haven't even been on the forums that long. I'm genuinely curious as to how a holographic meelee weapon might be scientifically feasible 200 years in the future and I'd like to know if anyone else has any interesting theories, so please don't dumb down the thread for the sake of your own ego.
