He is obcessive, cheesy and overbearing.
My favourite romance was Merrill, but she has her flaws too.

Dunno. I know that all of the LIs are available to either gender, but I find that my Hawkes seem to prefer one or another based on whether I'm rolling Marian or Garrett. I'm not saying that I consider LIs to be more suitable as romance partners for one sex or the other, just that the Hawkes I come up with have (so far) had personal preferences that might have inclined them toward one LI rather than another.mandamcmoo wrote...
Can I just say that this thread seems unnecessarily exclusive? There are plenty of 'favourite romance' threads and none of them actively *exclude* same sex pairings to my knowledge.
If I'm wrong then I apologise. I just always feel that starting a 'debate' or even a 'discussion' by limiting the fields on which you can voice your opinion is reductive and doesn't foster real debate.

There appears to be a completely different dynamic when you play MHawke Mage.
And I am glad to see difference in Andersmance in case mHawke and FemHawke. With Mhawke he and Anders looks like friends become a lovers. Fenris and MHawke is like "Master- slave" I really don't like it.berelinde wrote...

Anders seems less protective of M!Hawke than he is of F!Hawke, and he gives the impression that he is attracted to Hawke on more of a physical level, but it isn't as if the romances are *compeletely* different.
My perspective of the altered dynamic does contain some over-simplifications and gender-based assumptions, so it is far from unbiased, but it seems to me as if Anders downplays his protective tendencies because he does not want to belittle Hawke's masculine self-sufficiency. Later on, he says that he does not want to die before he has kissed Hawke rather than that he does not want to die before he has told Hawke how he feels because he is sensitive to the possibility that M!Hawke may not be as comfortable talking about feelings as F!Hawke.
Some men do speak to other men exactly the same way they would speak to women, but others do not. With Anders, the difference is subtle, but it's there.
