Fenris and MHawke is like "Master- slave" I really don't like it.

Only if you play it that way, I certainly never got that vibe from playing my self depricating-sarcasticHawke... and I don't see how Hawke being male would feel more like a master/slave than a female Hawke since Hadrianna is right there in game as a source of torment for Fenris.

(don't mind me, just getting defensive of my most favourite pairing. I will defend my pixels to the death! *fisticuffs*)

I kind of did, especially on the rivalry path. It's one of the reasons I've had so much trouble getting invested in a Fenris/Hawke pairing. I'm OK with a platonic relationship, but the overtones of sexual abuse in a physical relationship kind of squicked me out. No, I know that Hawke is not abusing Fenris. It's definitely a mutual thing. "Thing" meaning "encounter" here, not "abuse." But my hypersensitive brain keeps telling me "He really doesn't need this, you know. It's confusing enough for him just hanging out with a mage." Because I always play mages.

Friendmance, any class with Fenris. His Gallows scene is the best. no one else has that much passion and you have to work for his affection. Can't just say nice things... in fact as far as my rivalmancing is going saying nice things makes him snarly. If the wall tossing makes peoples uncomfy then send him away and he'll come back all by his lonesome wall tossing mostly free.

The non-assault scenario is bugged. Many players who complete Fenris's QB after A Bitter Pill never have him return. Sometimes, he does, but it seems to glitch badly on a lot of games. Not Fenris's fault, but it's still annoying.

Fenris hands down.

Though between friendship with my rogue and rivalry with my mage...I can't pick which I like more.

Lol, assault is a pretty rough term for it.Image IPB

The friendmance version always rang more true of a build up of sexual tension. Though if it was a rivalmance I can see where your coming from but only because it is glitched all to hell and Fenris is all "I refuse to look at you!" do not want vibe. I have never had his come back scene glitch but I also have to micromanage the romance because my game is super finicky or something. If I even look at Isabela the wrong way she shows up at my McMansion and even if I send her away without sex Fenris labours under the delusion that I am with her and will turn down my attempts at romancing, so mean. But yah, when rivaling I always make him come to me because glitch or no the scene can get a bit creepy. Friendmance though? Wall sex ahoy!Image IPB

Naw its not bugged. The QB after A Bitter Pill turning into romance is bugged, but the non-assault senario works just fine so long as you don't hit that last hart at the end of A Bitter Pill (via inside hawke's house). It's actually my prefered Rivalmance scene cause I'm standing there screaming at him to grow up and get over himself, and I don't like the idea of him being all "RAWR..smooch" when he'd much sooner walk away if he were really that angry.

Friendmance on the otherhand I can totally see him being like *mopeyfase* "I'm sorry" "Fenris wait!*grabyhands*" *glow, realize its still bestiest best friend hawke in the whole world, smoochiefase!*

;p

... I need more coffee. :wizard:

No you really don't. Image IPB

All I am saying is that, well... nothing really, everyone see's things their own way, people may see Fens romance as too grr arrgh, and some like me see the Anders romance as too "Drown you in a river of blood!" *twitch twitch*. Doesn't mean both romances don't have their high points like the lack of a three year Rachel/Ross "Yah we're broken up but if you so much as sneeze in someone elses direction I am never gonna come back! Or a smokin hot gallows scene.

Totally Anders.

He always seemed most... "******" (or rather:bi) to me. It just fits so perfectly with his character, considering that there is even this sweet extra line for a male Hawke about how Karl was more than just a mentor for Anders.

I usually roll female characters, but in DA2, for no better reason than my finding the male Hawke attractive, I started off with a male Hawke. I was 100% convinced that my Hawke would romance Fenris, after all I'd read about him.

But then... Anders "snatched my Hawke away" from him. I wasn't even aware of how I was totally falling for that loony. I totally ascribe it to the m/m chemistry. They just seem to be... made for each other. They are such a sweet, sweet couple.

Now I'm at the point where I even shy away from starting a game with a female Hawke. She and Anders... just doesn't seem right. But no Anders...?

Merrill all the way. Anders is a close second, but I still can't really play it.

FemHawke+Isabela. If Hawke's personality is proper one (read: the same little bit selfish, seeking for adventures and open-minded), these two ladies are so much fun, it's like "To hell with men, we know we are worthy, now let's see if that nice hat shop is still open!".
Merrill was nice, but I tried her after my male Hawke and I was surprised that she talks about, err, elven reproduction to him and still has no trouble with the fact that she won't have elven (or any other) children with Marian as well

I don't recall her saying that, I might have missed it. Do you remember during Which ACT and What Conversation it was that she talked about Reproduction?

Sure, it is in the Act 2, when she comes to you after her personal quest. Perhaps the word "reproduction" is not a good one, but she was referring to the "human+elf=human child" problem. It was like "Oh, I'm a dalish and my clan won't be pleased that I'm with a human, because there are very few dalish left" or something similar.

In fact I'm forcing myself to play simultaneous M!Hawke x Anders and F!Hawke x Merrill games but I can't help but go back to my current (yet again) M!Hawke x Fenris game.

And my OTP for that pairing, specifically, is diplomatic M!Hawke (any class) x friendship romanced Fenris.

It takes a lot for Fenris to overcome his past and let Hawke into his heart. A kind Hawke can do this, whereas I feel like a sarcastic or aggressive Hawke just shouldn't even have a chance.

All of them. No straight Hawke exists in any of my games (though I do have some bi Hawkes who play the field before settling with a same-sex companion). My favorite has to be m!Hawke/Anders, though.

The s/s romances, just don't do it for me. I'm with Heidenreich on that.

But if I did play one, it would be femhawke and Merrill. Because I always romance Merrill. Always.

F!Hawke / Isabela...FINALLY.

I've waited years (since Baldur's Gate 2) for the female romanceable party member I found really attractive, personality wise, to be available for same sex romance. I don't play male characters, and I don't mod s/s romances in, because it usually screws something up somewhere. Isabela is the first time I get to enjoy this content fully, and my only complaint was that I wish that there was more content to it.
