I know how much fuzz there is around this thing...
I will be honest, I gotta say that I am very happy to have lived to see this game series so far.
And I appreciate what Bioware has offered so far.
But there is something i just cannot keep inside me, unless I take it out of my heart.
If this is likelly going to end up with whinning and spam posts feel free to lock it, i will accept it... but please.. please don't delete it...

here it goes..

Dear Bioware

I am a Mass Effect fan.
And I DO know that Shepard's story ends with Mass Effect 3.
But also there are rumors that Mass Effect will not end there.

I BEG YOU Don't let STAR WARS be your only future sci-fi rpg project.
Mass Effect has more juice than anything everyone ever imagined.
The Mass Effect Universe was, is, and always will be vast and without any limits.
Shepard's story is put on a environment so rich of stories and backround plots.
The Mass Effect universe's stories must not just end with Shepard.. It can't...

PLEASE DON'T LET MASS EFFECT END WITH THE THIRD GAME.
PLEASE DON'T LET STAR WARS TAKE ITS PLACE.

With love and enthusiasm.

A sincere fan of you and all of your games.

All good things must come to an end eventually. It would be better to put the series down rather than milking it like call of duty or halo.

They were very clear that they are not going to stop make ME games.

I prefer a good thing that ends while it's still good than extending it until it's a mediocrity.

If ME3 makes good dollars I wouldn't be surprised if there were more games in the ME universe. The Shepherd story may very well end at ME3 but there are all sorts of other possibilities and things that could be explored.

I approve of this post 2000%.  Mass Effect is a wonderful world to explore and have fun in.  It would be CRIMINAL to shelve the entire universe after ME3 when there's so much more rich experiences that could be had.

Are you listening Bioware?  Mass Effect is one of the most engrossing sci fi settings I've ever seen.  It beats the crap out of a lot of the classics for quality and immersion.  I'll take Mass Effect over Star Wars every single day and twice on Sundays.

After Shepard's story is over, we need another trilogy.  MAKE THIS HAPPEN!  I threw out my own idea for a new trilogy elsewhere on these forums....feel free to use any part of it if it helps (I'm sure it won't since I'm a wannabe writer and you guys at BW are pros :P).

It is confirmed that Shepard's story ends with ME3, but ME universe has too big potential to end with ME3 for good.

Totally agree with this.  Unfortunatley with EA in charge I doubt they will let it end.

ME3 is the end of Shepards story, not the universe (hopefully)

Then for once I'm thankful for EA. There is so much that can be done with an IP that engrosses and immerses players so well. I'll be happy as long subsequent games are done in a reasonable way.

I would like the Mass Effect universe to countinue, I was more referring to how Halo and COD have been "milked" by their publishers.  I really love the ME universe, I just don't want it to be exploited.

Nah.  Further games would have a different tone. There's no way you're ever going to top the epic space opera of the Reapers.  Further games would focus on different storylines dealing with the aftermath of ME3.

Oh yeah, and I want a barfight.  I really want for me and my crew to be able to go to Omega and start a big assed fight in Afterlife after drinking too much.

Chill, mate. They said it themselves that they're hoping to continue Mass Effect's universe, ME3 is just gonna be the end of Shepard's trilogy, as the above stated. Future games will be just spin offs. I'd personally hate it to end as well. In fact, this IP is what got me into sci-fi the most, I use to despise the genre. Please don't compare Halo, or CoD to this either, this is a bioware RPG that keeps it fresh with new plots, decisions etc. The other two are just multiplayer and linear single player games.

edit: spelling.

I'm not comparing first person shooters to Mass Effect.  I'm comparing what Activision has done with COD and what Microsoft has done with Halo to the fear of what EA could do to Mass Effect.

I believe Casey Hudson suggested heavily that thee would be other ME games not about Shephard. As long as we don't get ME Wars or an FPS, and as long as the series doesn't go on for ever becoming increasingly boring and pointless (CoD, Saw films), this will be most excellent.

I will shed a single tear in the end. But it will be like a teardrop of Prozac in a thundercloud of depression.

I support this, and if ME continues making money they won't stop. however I still feel Sheppard IS Mass Effect. I wouldn't mind some spin offs with more diverse aliens, maybe where you get to be one. there's still so much of the Citadel and places like Omega to explore.

Dragon Age 2 was a spinoff though and not a sequel. so I hope any Mass Effect are labeled as so.

Shepard's story ends here. What happens with the franchise later is still up for grabs.

It's a possibility, I get where you're coming from. Expanding ME to the RTS, multiplayer (death matches, PvP etc) areas would be a scary thing to see, balancing the classes and what not would be a nightmare. I wouldn't mind if they implemented a coop LAN feature, where a friend could control a squadmate. But it would be defying what Bioware really is.

I love the Mass Effect games, but I would rather them end the series on a high note. Like some others have said, milking a series ends up killing it. (Halo, CoD, Guitar Hero, etc.)

More Mass Effect? Absolutely. More Shpeard? Highly unlikely. His story ends. But if you don't screw up in the last part, there'll still be a whole galaxy left to explore and a franchise that has huge potential.

I don't think making further ME titles will kill it as long as they avoid the usual multi-player stuff and focus on story telling.

In other words, put out some reasonable writing and keep the same TPS/RPG format, and it ought to work just fine
